As an Installation Technician, you'll work inside or out to install and repair equipment as you take the lead on providing our voice, data and video services. You'll need to be able to work independently, but most importantly, you'll need to have excellent customer service skills as you'll educate customers on the features and functionality of our services. We'll look to you to promote DIRECTV as a premier service provider while you provide best-in-class customer service during installations.
What you'll do:
Working at heights on ladders and raised surfaces to install and service customer satellite equipment.
Educate customers on the features and functionality of the services.
Verify all services are working and demonstrate, sell and bill video service while engaging with customers.
Perform work in buildings, attics, basements, and crawl spaces that involves bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, etc.
Use a company PC to retrieve and complete orders.
Work outside in all types of weather while using and/or wearing appropriate safety equipment and following established safety practices and procedures.
Drive a company vehicle and/or report directly to work location.
The base wage range for this full-time position is $27.96-$30.50 per hour + bonus (if applicable) + benefits. Our wage ranges are determined by role and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum hourly wage for the position. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Here's what you'll need:
A valid state driver's license, commercial license, or chauffeur's license, whichever is applicable, appropriate to weight and size of vehicle driven, dependent on state and federal licensing requirements.

SUMMARY
The Installation and Repair Technician is responsible for installing and repairing communication lines and services for residential and business customers, including telephone, high-speed internet, and digital TV. This role requires a strong commitment to safety and the ability to deliver exceptional customer service. Additional responsibilities include troubleshooting service lines and wireless CPE, responding to customer requests and complaints, and operating company equipment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties include the following, but other duties may be assigned as required.
Perform and complete installations, troubleshooting, and repairs for connects, upgrades, and relocates for telephone, high-speed internet, and Digital TV customers.
Plan and complete installations for new services and equipment for customers by installing copper and fiber drops, network interface devices, ground wires, in-home wiring, station protectors, jacks, modems and wireless routers, and set-top boxes per company standards.
Recognize and inspect existing ground wiring or make new ground according to Company policy to protect employees, customers, and equipment from electrical shock or damage.
Recognize and understand how to configure customers' equipment to connect to the internet via a modem or wireless router and set up IPTV service, including connecting standard consumer electronic devices such as DVD players, computers, laptops, tablets, smartphones, and telephone handsets.
Understand, maintain, and repair existing equipment by using test sets to locate line or equipment trouble and determine necessary repairs.
Repair, replace, and splice aerial and underground cable (copper and fiber) to restore services to the system specifications.
Complete and maintain records as required, including entering all necessary information on work orders to ensure accurate documentation in the customer's account.
Clean, maintain, and organize stock for company vehicles, ensuring equipment is prepared for safe operation and upholds the highest brand standards.

As an Installation Technician, you'll work inside or out to install and repair equipment as you take the lead on providing our voice, data and video services. You'll need to be able to work independently, but most importantly, you'll need to have excellent customer service skills as you'll educate customers on the features and functionality of our services. We'll look to you to promote DIRECTV as a premier service provider while you provide best-in-class customer service during installations.
What you'll do:
+ Working at heights on ladders and raised surfaces to install and service customer satellite equipment.
+ Educate customers on the features and functionality of the services.

Performs all testing required for installation of POTS and DATA services over copper and fiber optic facilities.
Cross-trains with Network and Plant personnel to install complex outside plant or central office systems.
Performs required documentation of service orders, and maintenance visits in eLations system.
Ability to navigate and interpret standard telecommunication prints and mapping.
Performs other duties as assigned by supervisory personnel.
WHAT YOU BRING:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid TN driver's license with satisfactory driving record required.
3+ years of experience at an OSP, I&R, or Cable Maintenance technician level is required.
Familiar with all facilities of the local exchange distribution network.
Knowledge of basic electricity. Requires familiarity with RUS outside plant practices and standards. Knowledge of the copper and fiber color code.
Knowledge of line and facility test equipment and copper and fiber locating equipment.
Skill in operating various construction equipment including backhoe, cable plow, trencher, etc.
Actively participate in the team environment that will foster forward thinking, innovation, and creativity to meet the needs of the company now and in the future.
Resourceful, roll up the sleeves attitude. The successful candidate must have the initiative to resolve problems and seek answers independently and enthusiastically persist until goals are achieved.
Must have an ability to read and understand blueprints, instructions, engineering diagrams, work orders, written documentation, training materials, and network records.
Must possess excellent communication skills (oral and written), including the ability to effectively articulate complex situations to colleagues and customers with varying degrees of construction knowledge.
Ability to operate motorized work equipment and service equipment, including personal computers, phone systems, software applications (including email clients and web browsers), hand tools, electric tools, and test sets.
Ability to use manual equipment such as shovels, rakes, sledgehammers, and pick axes.
Ability to operate mechanized equipment such as trucks, excavators, plows, and trenchers.
Knowledge of basic mathematics and consumer electronics.

This is a full-time position based out of our Chapel Hill, TN office, with travel throughout the assigned Middle Tennessee territory. A company vehicle is provided.

This role will be responsible for the maintenance and appearance of all attractions. The Attractions Technician will assist with facilitating the repair and maintenance of our attractions and any associated equipment. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Keep accurate documentation of repairs and parts inventory
Assist with the repair of equipment, troubleshooting of issues, and maintenance of Attractions in superior working order
Responsible for maintaining work area and back end in a neat and orderly manner
Maintain an adequate supply of tools and machinery
Read and interpret diagnostics from manual(s)
Maintain a safe work environment and assist Supervisor to ensure staff adheres to all safety rules
Advise Supervisor on any problems and/or potential problems discovered during maintenance of Attractions
Ability to work various shifts and regular attendance is a requirement for the role
Perform other related duties as assigned
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Must be at least 18 years of age
High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED); or minimum of one (1) year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Some knowledge of amusement equipment is preferred but not required
Work flexibility (nights, weekends and holidays, as needed)
Basic working knowledge of hand tools
General knowledge of related OSHA regulations and safety practices
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Work in a noisy, fast-paced environment with distracting conditions
Move about facility and stand for long periods of time (over 2/3 of the time)
Standing, kneeling, bending, walking, reaching above shoulder, pushing and pulling
Requires ability to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 300 lbs. (70+ pounds with the assistance of a dolly)
Ability to wear personal protective gear
