Our QIDP staff help coordinate the care of our individuals living in ICF homes. This includes identifying supported individual goals, monitoring progress and overseeing the care team of the individual. The QIDP also supervises the team leader who supervises the staff who work directly with individuals ensuring individuals are safe and their personal welfare and rights are supported.
QIDP is also responsible for ensuring that these facilities are following federal, state and national accreditation.

+ Registered Nurse (RN) with 1-year relatable experience supporting individuals.

Job Summary
The Accessible Education Specialist oversees policies, procedures, and standards for a comprehensive accessibility compliance program for individuals with temporary and permanent disabilities. S/he is responsible for interpretation and application of the regulations of Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, and University policies. S/he oversees services and accommodations for all Palo Alto University’s (PAU) admitted and enrolled students. S/he enforces accessibility from a physical and programmatic standpoint, collaborating with, but not limited to academic departments, admissions, and information technology.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
- Facilitate timely, thorough, and good faith interactive processes for admitted and enrolled students with disabilities, ensuring that each are informed of the full array of available options during the interactive process to determine eligibility and appropriate accommodations
- Review and verify documentation, consult with medical professionals and specialists as needed to develop, monitor, adjust, and evaluate individual plans of accommodations
- Consult with PAU administration, including Facilities on ADA compliance issues and risk mitigation as related to ADA compliance
- Create and maintain a confidential database for student and while maintaining HIPAA compliance
- Follows-up on temporary accommodation plans, medical notes, while ensuring all HIPAA, FERPA, and privacy laws are followed
- Provide letters of accommodation to include staff and/or faculty
- Assess assistive-technology and adaptive equipment needs and collaborate with IT for support
- Coordinate provision of deaf services such as Communication Access Real-Time Translation (CART) for deaf and hearing-impaired individuals
- Provide textbooks in alternative format to students with print disabilities in accord with copyright holder Disability Permissions protocols and the federal Copyright Revisions Act of 1976, as amended; maintain Textbook Permissions and End User Agreement files in accordance with Copyright Permissions agreements
- Recruit, hire, and supervise student workers as note-takers, e-text assistants, scribes, text proctors, and readers for students with disabilities
- Maintain on-going relationships with faculty, staff, and administration regarding disability services
- Provide professional development for faculty and staff
- Maintain professional skills and knowledge through courses, conferences, and professional development activities
- Serve on PAU committees and other duties as assigned
