What you will do Primary Responsibilities: * Perform diversified assembly operations required to assemble various sizes and models of construction equipment. Work involves the assembly of complete machines, machine sections, or sub-assemblies, as assigned. Also included is the collaboration to diagnose malfunctions or difficulties concerned with the mechanical aspect of the unit under erection, its hydraulic systems, ignition or control circuits * Receive direction from the Manager and the daily work assignments from the Team Leader. Work from complex drawings, work instructions, build of material sheets, material lists, and specifications to plan assembly operations while ensuring conformity to specification * Interpret drawings to verify material requirement and plan efficient sequence of operations. Fit, adjust, and align components, such as gears, shafts, keys and bearings * Assemble complete machines or sub-assembly as zones are assigned * Conduct running and performance tests. Diagnose malfunctions, dismantle, clean, and inspect for damage or distortion after running tests. Identify product defects and complete appropriate documentation when defects are identified * Detect and report faulty operation, defective material, questionable drawing requirements, and unusual conditions to proper authority. Maintain working area in neat and orderly conditions as set for by 5s standards daily * Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures * Follow policies and procedures, support organization's goals * Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness; look for ways to improve and promote quality; apply feedback to improve performance; monitor one's own work to ensure quality Who are you? What you will do Primary Responsibilities: * Perform a variety of duties necessary to achieve a finish that satisfies VCE paint quality standards and engineering requirements * Use and follow prescribed safety procedures * Emphasize personal safety by employing the prescribed PPE to protect themself and others from hazards of the task. This ranges from splash protection in the wash booth to respirators and full body PPE in the spray booth * Operate pressure washers and or steam cleaners in a conscientious way to assure that oily contamination is removed and removing excess water to speed dry time * Employ many different types of masking to protect sensitive surfaces from blast, and to keep surfaces free of paint as required by part design and/or an understanding of its function * Apply seam sealer to prevent water leaks and rust bleed * Sand and grind to repair cosmetic defects, and apply plastic filler as needed * Set up paint for spraying, including moving drums as needed, adding reducer as required, stirring properly, making sure pressures are properly adjusted and keeping the mix area clean * Set up and adjust spray equipment, and keep it clean and lubricated as needed for reliable operation and operate electronic paint proportioning equipment * Properly mix paint with hardener by hand for repairs and special colors * Keep equipment and area free of unnecessary dirt by picking up debris and sweeping loose overspray while maintaining 5S standards * Keep cleaning solvent covered when not in use, and empty waste containers as needed and at shift end into proper containers * Look for a wide range of defects after paint and correct if able or escalate to supervisor * Detect and report faulty operation, defective material and unusual conditions to Supervisor * Maintain working area in neat and orderly condition * Interpret drawings and work instructions to determine paint quality or masking requirements Who are you? Work involves gas metal arc welding (GMAW), flux cored arc welding (FCAW), submerged arc welding (SAW), and flame cutting operations. * Equipment used includes a wide variety of welding positioners, stands, fixtures, tables, jib boom suspended welders and a variety of weld wire in coils, spools or drums and applicable flux materials. Material processed consists of various grades of carbon steel and is handled by hand, lift truck, jib boom hoist, or overhead bridge crane. Basic use of pneumatic tools is required. * Receive direction from Supervisor relative to work assignment from either a Supervisor, Weld Engineers, or Weld Instructors. Written work instructions are from detail and weld assembly drawings, shop orders, and schedules, to plan and perform assigned welding operation within Internal Supply. * Interpret drawing and shop orders to determine fixture and welding requirements. Fabricate holding fixtures as required, with consideration of weldment dimensional tolerances. Select weld wire and process in accordance with specified procedures. Set up work on table, floor, stand, positioner, or prescribed fixture. Secure with blocks, clamps, and related holding devices to tack and weld in accordance with engineering drawings, specifications, and procedures. * All Welds should be made to meet Volvo Weld Specifications, per ISO document, WPR-005. * Detect and report faulty operation, defective material, questionable drawing requirements, and unusual conditions to proper Supervisor. Perform work of acceptable quality requirements. Collaborate with other welders, as assigned, in performing work such as submerged arc welding of drums. Maintain working area in neat and orderly condition and report all production information in the appropriate computer system. Who are you?
