GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Warehouse Associates are part of the team responsible for the receiving, stocking, and shipping of tires and wheels for all our store locations. This position will report to the Warehouse Manager and is expected to maintain the highest levels of productivity within the warehouse/driver workgroup. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: * This is a dual function role working both in the warehouse and driving as part of the delivery process so essential functions for both roles are required. * While in the warehouse the essential functions include: * Responsible for unloading of incoming deliveries. * Clearing the unloading area of incoming deliveries by storing into inventory loaded bins of tires. * General cleanup of unloading area and surrounding warehouse as directed. * Assist the regular route drivers with loaded as needed. * Assist in clearing the dock to facilitate pulling the next day's stock order. * Check overflow/returns area to see if anything needs restocked. * Picking tire stock orders as required. * Maintain correct inventory in WMS computer system. * Ensure tires / items are accurately loaded into each truck. * Perform other projects and duties as assigned by the Warehouse Manager. * While performing the driving/delivery tasks the essential functions include: * Deliver and pick up product from specified store locations. * Ensure all products and materials are accounted for prior to loading and delivery. * Follow an organized and efficient loading and unloading system. * Unload merchandise according to Tire Discounters Driver Policy 630A. * Using extreme caution while operating delivery vehicle always with an awareness of pedestrians, buildings, personal property and vehicles in close proximity to delivery truck. * Properly complete pre-trip & post-trip vehicle inspections. * Maintain daily driver's log. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: * No previous warehouse experience is required but is a plus. * Maintain Excellent Attendance * Desire and ability to work as a team. * Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. * A positive "can-do" attitude. * Ability to keep accurate records. * Must be able to operate an RF Scanner with training. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: * Mentor, coach and provide direction to warehouse associates to ensure a productive and safe work environment. * Ensure safety and OSHA compliance standards for the warehouse are met. * Generate reports to measure productivity and efficiency in processes. * Schedule and coordinate daily work flow, monitoring the pace and flow of product from receiving through shipping. * Control all inventory movements from receipt through storage into warehouse inventory. * Maintain accurate inventory and product loss control records. * Track and record all related issues and challenges in order to develop a strategy to overcome any internal problems. * Plan and assign tasks appropriately and appraise results. * Identify and implement warehouse process improvements. * Ensure BWT / TDSS has product available and properly placed for positive customer experience * Schedule warehouse associates to meet the demands of the facility to include; staffing, training, evaluation and development. * Maintain warehouse staffing levels by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees. * Must be certified and skilled to train associates using powered industrial (MHE) equipment. Operates equipment in accordance with safety guidelines considering speed, visibility, and load size. * Assure warehouse maintains compliance with company's policies and vision. * Communicates with Warehouse Operations Manager and other departments to ensure goals are accomplished. * Acts as back-up to the Warehouse Operations Manager, when he/she is unavailable * General housekeeping to ensure warehouse standards are met in a safe and professional manner.
