GENERAL SUMMARY
This position is responsible for the review and accuracy of the HDMA loan data required to be collected and reported in accordance with the Bank and HMDA regulatory requirements.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Responsible for accuracy and integrity of the data collected and reviewed that is reported on originated mortgage loans, as well as non-originated applications (denials, withdrawal, approved but not accepted applications).
Scrub and audit file loan data to uncover any systematic problems, discrepancies, or data integrity issues.
Perform second line reviews on Bank Purchase Loans.
Work with various mortgage operations team members as well as other areas of the Bank to correct data within the loan origination system (Empower) or on the LAR.
Identify commercial HMDA reportable loans; prepare manual HMDA LAR by working with various commercial lending units.
Report any potential concerns about non-compliance with HMDA regulatory requirements.
Prepare monthly HMDA excel reports that will be submitted to the Compliance Department for LAR reporting.
Meet monthly deadline for HMDA data required on the Loan Application Register (LAR).
Perform other tasks which may be assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education: College graduate with major in accounting or business preferred.
Experience: Minimum three years of mortgage lending and banking experience with good knowledge of lending regulations. Knowledge of the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA) is preferred.
Skills/Ability: Strong analytical and research skills; strong planning, organizing, and problem-solving skills; strong written and verbal communication skills; must be able to adapt well to a fast paced and constantly changing business environment; PC proficient at the expert level; demonstrated ability to work in a team-oriented environment; bilingual English/Chinese is a plus.

Ensure accuracy by collecting and validating HMDA data in the loan origination system.
Lead the charge on HMDA LAR accuracy checks and annual submissions.
Conduct quality control reviews on both originated and non-originated loans-pre-funding and post-closing.
Analyze CIP exception reports monthly and implement updates to maintain compliance.
Spot trends and errors through detailed reviews and drive corrective training initiatives.
Investigate red flags in loan files to ensure clean, compliant submissions.

Job Description:

The opportunity:
The position is responsible for supporting the compliance risk management programs relevant to one or more Business Units. It is considered an individual contributor role within the Sun Life U.S. Compliance Department.
The position is responsible for day-to-day compliance program activities under the supervision of an Associate Director, Director and/or AVP. The primary focus of this position is to provide direct support for the Financial Crimes Program and the Privacy Program operating within the Regulatory Compliance Management Program. This includes performing control activities related to AML (e.g. transaction monitoring) and Privacy (e.g. privacy incident and privacy impact assessment review and analysis), among other tasks. These activities directly impact the health of the respective Programs, and internal and external reporting. Support for regulatory examinations, Internal Audits or other regulatory matters may be required as appropriate.
How you will contribute :
* Provides direct support of compliance controls within the Financial Crimes Program and the Privacy Program
* Maintains required documentation in support of control performance, including as relates to escalation, review, and challenge
* Conducts routine transactional activities and administration of Compliance Programs (e.g., AML alert monitoring, privacy incident review, privacy impact assessments, etc.)
* Participates, under supervision, in annual compliance risk assessments and monitoring and testing of existing procedures and controls
* Maintains familiarity with company risk management policies and procedures
* Participates in compliance projects as needed
* Encourage, promote and enhance a culture that supports the Code of Conduct, encourages ethical behavior and a commitment to compliance with applicable laws and regulations
* Adhere to Sun Life policies and procedures to maintain effective compliance with legal and regulatory standards

Salary Range: $62,200 - $93,300

As the Compliance Analyst I, you will work on the investment advisory compliance program for an SEC-registered investment adviser and NFA commodity pool operator.
You will work directly with the CCO to help implement Voleon's compliance program as part of the Compliance department. Responsibilities
* Manage the preparation of key regulatory filings (e.g., EU Short Reporting, Forms 13H and 13F, various CFTC and NFA filings, state "Blue Sky" filings and others).

* Assist with the day-to-day administration of the firm's Code of Ethics software system for employee compliance, which includes personal trading by employees and other access persons, various periodic certifications by employees and other documentation, etc.

The base salary range for this position is $100,000 to $110,000 in the location(s) of this posting.
