Cons of working at Discover Vision

On the job training is sub par while expectation to perform duties with little training is required and often critiqued with an unjust slant. While in training I often had no idea where to be and what to do because the trainer was MIA and supervisor had to find somewhere for me to go. Often I was put in a clinic to work up patients and other Techs were left to supervise me who obviously did not want newbies there. At first glance the PTO seems generous until you realize those are the only hours you are allowed to take off work ever. Time off without pay is not allowed. Dr's may cancel but you have to still show up and do nothing all day or you have to use your PTO. If you finish work early you have to stay or you have to use PTO. Other Technicians are not kind and often just ignore newcomers. New employees are under constant threat of losing their jobs, no job security. The site manager (independence) sneaks around listening to private conversations and then gossips about what she hears. She also let's the whole building know when someone is disciplined or wants to fire a specific person she tries to get people to complain about them. The dynamic at work is toxic because this.
