SUMMARY
Performs preliminary ophthalmic testing and ensures compliance with study while providing continual quality patient care and a collegiate work environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Ophthalmic Testing Skills
Perform refractions per protocol using trial frames.
Measure visual acuity at distance and near utilizing appropriate test for age and protocol and record accurately.
Perform basic low vision testing and pinhole testing as needed.
Perform MN/Radner Reading test
Instill eyedrops properly and understand the indication/contraindication for use in dilation and as corneal anesthetic
Measure and record current lens power accurately with a lensometer (including add power(s) and prism)
Perform pupillary assessment
Estimate anterior chamber depth using transilluminator method
Perform and record basic ocular motility and alignment testing
Perform and record confrontation visual fields
Perform and record Amsler Grid Test
Perform Tonopen tonometry and applanation tonometry as needed
Perform Color Vision Plates and other color vision testing (D15 etc).
Able to navigate EHR and properly document patient information and the results of Basic Ophthalmic Tech Skills
Exam Lane Maintenance and calibration as assigned
Perform routine instrument maintenance on ophthalmic equipment
Stock examination rooms in assigned area and ensure that medication expiration dates are current
Clean, disinfect and maintain examination rooms
Comply with company and Sate Pharmacy Board drop inventory guidelines
Ability to perform equipment calibration and log documentation
Other Testing Skills
Perform clinic and research ERG tests, both full field and multi-focal tests
Perform FST testing and other protocol specific tests
Research Requirements:
Attend in-services for study staff
Review GCP guidelines, maintain GCP &/or CITI certification
Obtain/maintain study-specific examiner certification as required by protocol.
Perform other duties as assigned
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Minimum of a High School diploma or general education degree.
Previous medical office experience preferred; previous ophthalmic experience strongly preferred.

Strong fine motor skills and full use of hands are essential, as the role demands constant grasping, writing/typing, and use of technology. Visual and auditory acuity-including color, depth, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus-is required 100% of the time. Occasional driving or climbing may also be necessary.

LOCATION:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Embrace and execute our Total Patient Experience to build relationships with all patients while delivering great medical support
Determine patient wants and needs and selling to exceed their expectations
Assist patients in selecting frames according to style and color, coordinating frames with facial and eye measurements and optical prescriptions
Able to operate the auto-lensometer and manual lensometer
Educate and recommend specific lenses, lens coatings and frames to suit patient needs
Can accurately collect measurements such as bridge, eye size, temple length, seg heights, vertex distance, pupillary distance, and pantoscopic tilt
Dispense patient orders and repair and adjust patient frames
Dispense all glasses and/or contact lens orders using current process
QUALIFICATIONS
Previous medical office experience preferred; previous ophthalmic experience strongly preferred.
Minimum of 1 year in a position interacting with customers/patients or the equivalent combination of education and experience
Favorable result on background check as required by state
Must be able to provide proof of identity and right to work in the United States
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED required.
LICENSES AND CREDENTIALS
ABO and NCLE certifications preferred but not required.

As an Ophthalmic Clinic Manager, you are responsible for the management and oversight of clinical staff processes within the assigned scope of responsibility to accurately and efficiently enter, interpret, and lead assigned Ophthalmic Technicians in the execution of day-to-day operations in support of each Ophthalmologist, while working in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Functions
Lead assigned functional teams in providing exceptional customer service during every patient encounter
Provide operational leadership to the staff supporting the Ophthalmologist in conduct of office visits and in-office surgical procedures.
Ensure staff are able to and are correctly submitting assigned physician escribed medications, and medication refills to patients' pharmacies.
Ensure timely process flow for visual fields, Biometry, refractions, optical coherence tomography (OCT), and Topography testing.
Ensure all patient information gathered during the exam is accurately reflected in electronic health records by assigned team members.
Oversee patient communication regarding follow-up care, surgeries, procedures, post-op care, etc., and ensure that communication is patient focused
Maintain sanitary use of equipment throughout the care visit for their assigned team
Assistance to the Clinical Manager in training, staff development plans and performance evaluations
Manage prior authorizations, patient refills, doctor schedules, and referral correspondence for assigned team
Advise Clinical Manager on functional team staffing in support of the doctor's schedules to comply with all company policies
Deploy company objectives where applicable
Enforce HIPAA and OSHA standards along with ECP identified best practices in the conduct of care among team members
Other duties as assigned
Some Saturdays may be required
Minimum Requirements
High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
5 years (minimum) leading a clinical team in ophthalmology
Previous experience with management of PACS or similar systems (desirable)
5 years EMR experience and medical documentation
Current Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) or Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) certification or a related area of study preferred
Favorable result on background check required
Must be able to provide proof of their identity and their right to work in the United States

An Ophthalmic Technician is a valuable asset to an Ophthalmologist as they assist in providing excellent patient care to the patients during their visit. This employee is able to handle a wide range of duties while using equipment to perform the initial testing needed to prepare a patient for an exam with an Ophthalmologist.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Provide exceptional customer service during every patient encounter (in person or via phone)
Display a professional attitude, greet patients promptly with a smile, and thank them when they leave
Practice urgency at all times with patient's time, as well as doctor's time and schedule
Comply with all company policies and procedures including HIPAA
Verify patient information by interviewing patient
Recording medical history, current medications and confirming purpose of visit
Records all data in the patient's Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
Checks condition of patient's eyes by observing pupils, muscles, visual acuity, and extraocular movements
Required skills include: dilation, refraction, pressures, and performing a variety of diagnostic tests including visual fields, OCT, GDX, IOL master, auto refractor and topography
Demonstrates working knowledge of eye anatomy, diseases, symptoms and ocular medications
General office duties and cleaning to be assigned by manager

Reliable transportation that would allow employee to go to multiple work locations with minimal notice
Ability to work weekends when applicable
