Drive program material design review practice.
Drive Supplier selection, negotiations, and contracting for the agreed category areas, in agreement with and support of Category Manager.
Maintain up-to-date lists of new technologies, key suppliers, and key materials.
Ensure that backup plans are created for single and sole source cases.
Implement inbound logistics modes and PuCC handover from the program to the maintenance phase.
Ensure materials for prototypes, ramp up and start of volume deliveries.
Ensure that materials are transferred to volume production or no need for materials /assemblies to be sold/scrapped.
If decided may have Product Owner (PO) responsibilities for the PuCC team.
Manage PuCC team backlog.
Mediation and dispute handling between project, suppliers, and stakeholders.
Being authorized to work in the U.S. is a precondition of this employment.
Electromechanical Experience in some or all these areas: (printed circuit boards, aluminum castings, sheet metal, plastics, cables, connectors, gaskets, fans, misc. hardware).
Understanding of supplier's tool plans and the ability to manage that into the program time plan.
Must have the ability to work outside of defined processes.
Project management experience.
Experience in purchasing technical commodities with close interfacing with engineering.
Knowledge of product life cycles, critical milestones in product development, and following the established process required.

Source in coordination with R&D and category management, custom electro mechanical parts (examples: printed circuit boards, aluminum castings, sheet metal, plastics, cables, connectors, gaskets, misc. hardware) with suppliers that can meet the service, quality and cost requirements.
Coordinate with cross functional program team to identify new and existing sources of supply in Mexico, Europe, Asia to support regionalization efforts.
Ensure that all quotes are based on negotiated competitive bids from qualified suppliers and in alignment with should cost targets.
Create and maintain tracking sheets to monitor orders, supplier hard tooling, cost summaries etc.
Ensure inbound material availability against the demand during program and ramp phase - onsite/factory/EMS.
Supplier communication and correspondence for proto builds and ramp (e.g. build qty, dates, interface meetings, design details).
Regularly monitor supplier performance (response time, quality, etc.,) and ensure that corrective actions will be implemented.
Understand and explain the impact of the technical changes to lead-times and availability to program team.
Executes orders and supports forecasting for internal and external suppliers.

Company: Qualcomm Incorporated Job Area: Operations Group, Operations Group > Procurement Qualcomm is seeking a Senior Manager, Procurement to lead the General & Administrative (G&A) category with initial focus on Professional Services & HR. You'll keep a pulse on industry trends and business requirements, consulting with the business to execute best practices in procurement, category management, and supplier management. You'll collaborate with stakeholders across G&A, including our HR global benefit and Finance teams as well as functionslike FP&A, Legal, Risk, Contracts, and Compliance, to maximize valueand mitigate risk. The role will have direct reports and manage an international team.
This role can be based out of our San Diego, CA - Austin, TX - Bridgewater, NJ or Boxborough, MA office and requires full-time onsite work (5 days a week).
Roles & Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Category Management:
* Develop and implement strategic multi-year initiatives for G&A categories, including HR, Professional Services (Legal, Finance, Other
* Use current industry trends, data analysis, third-party supplier spend data and internal requirements to develop strategies that will proactively identify optimization opportunities to assist our Marketing Business Team to meet their goals.
Strategic Sourcing:
* As Category Lead, lead the development and execution of strategic sourcing plans and supplier spend management strategies, including handling of complex sourcing projects and contract negotiations that optimize value to the company.
* Develop strong collaborative relationships with key business partners to understand their needs and become a trusted partner to strategically manage their spend and supplier relationships.
* Establish supplier positioning and manage strategic relationships with key suppliers, including influencing their processes, resource decisions, performance management and policies to create mutually beneficial and sustainable partnerships.
* Develop strong internal partnerships across Indirect Procurement, Finance, Operations, HR, Privacy and Legal teams and act as the collaborator to bring teams together and influence a Qualcomm-wide solution.
Best in Class S2P:
* Maintain accurate and complete records, work with various business groups to simplify processes. Contribute to implementation, planning, and change management of process improvement initiatives across Indirect Procurement.
* Ensure adherence to procurement policies and manage the remediation and resolution of sourcing issues and escalations. Provide regular communication and training on procurement processes and systems to stakeholders and suppliers.
* Act as procurement subject matter expert in consulting with the business to identify, develop and deploy best practice procurement, category management and supplier management.
Knowledge & Skills:

* Vendor Management: Establish and maintain strong relationships with EDA tool vendors, negotiate contracts, and manage vendor performance to ensure the best value and service for Qualcomm.
* Strategic Technical Expertise: Provide technical insights and sourcing roadmap to the team, ensuring that the selected EDA tools align with the design flow requirements and enhance productivity.

Qualifications:
* Experience: Minimum of 8 years of experience in sourcing EDA tools or serving as a Technical Manager for EDA products within a fabless design company.

* Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. Advanced degrees are a plus.
