WORK OBJECTIVE Performs highly responsible, specialized work in receiving and prioritizing incoming calls for service and then dispatching emergency and non-emergency personnel and resources through the Police Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system. Responsible for obtaining and entering information from these calls and assigning appropriate priorities, signals, and codes to dispatch police units to locations where assistance is required, while also monitoring multiple frequencies and viewing multiple computer/camera screens. Responsibilities also include acting as a liaison with other Law Enforcement agencies through the use of radio, teletype and telephone equipment. This position plays a crucial role in dispatching and managing the movement of Taxicabs, Commercial Vehicles, and Transportation Network Companies (TNCs) within designated areas, including holding lots, loading zones, terminal roadways, curbs, and sidewalks. The Dispatcher prioritizes safety, efficiency, and customer service to ensure the smooth flow of vehicles and passengers. Key Responsibilities: Oversee and coordinate the movement of Taxicabs, Commercial Vehicles, and TNCs within Ground Transportation Areas (GTAs), loading zones, and curbside areas. Dispatch vehicles efficiently while ensuring an orderly and safe queueing process for passengers. Assist passengers with boarding Taxicabs and provide additional support when needed. Skills & Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate's or bachelor's degree preferred. Experience in transportation, logistics, or airport operations is highly preferred. Strong leadership and supervisory skills with the ability to manage fast-paced, dynamic operations. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong customer service focus.
