The Paratransit Dispatcher oversees road service through communication with Operators and provides customer support to the clients. Key Responsibilities:
Service Monitoring & Dispatch Coordination
Monitor service performance and schedule adherence, adjusting and dispatching resources as needed to maintain safe, efficient, and reliable operations. Communicate service updates and coordinate responses to service issues, delays, and trip disruptions.
Crisis & Incident Management
Serve as the initial point of contact for service incidents and emergencies, coordinating appropriate response actions and documenting events accurately. Make timely operational decisions to protect safety, restore service, and support Operators and passengers.
Communication & Professional Conduct
Maintain professional, clear communication with Operators, passengers, and leadership, ensuring accurate information flow and effective issue resolution. Support a respectful, collaborative dispatch environment and ensure consistent shift-to-shift information handoff.
Operational Duties
Track service deviations, staffing changes, and resource allocations while ensuring compliance with operational policies and service requirements. Support reporting, data accuracy, and coordination with supplemental providers to uphold service quality and contractual standards.
Dispatch Decision-Making & Escalation
Apply sound judgment during service incidents by assessing situation severity, making appropriate operational decisions, and following established escalation protocols. Ensure safety, timely communication with leadership, and accurate documentation for all service disruptions, emergencies, and critical events.

Qualifications:
Required:
+ High school diploma or GED.
+ Minimum two (2) years of experience in paratransit dispatching, transit operations, emergency communications, or a related high-volume, fast-paced operations environment.
+ Ability to manage multiple priorities, make sound decisions, and maintain composure during high-pressure situations.
+ Strong verbal communication skills for radio and telephone interactions.
+ Ability to provide empathetic, service-oriented support to Operators and passengers.
+ Proficiency in incident documentation, log keeping, and accurate data entry.
+ Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with peers, supervisors, and field personnel.
+ Subject to a DOT drug testing and physical if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason.
Preferred:
+ Experience using Trapeze, VISION, Lytx, or comparable transportation/dispatch technology systems.
+ Prior training or certification in emergency communications, transit operations, or incident response.
+ Strong analytical skills related to service monitoring, schedule adherence, and operational problem-solving.
Strongly Preferred:
+ College coursework or an associate degree in transportation, communications, public safety, or a related field.
+ Experience coordinating responses during safety events, service disruptions, or passenger emergencies.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
The essential functions of this position require the ability to:
+ Primarily office-based in a fast-paced, 24/7/365 communications environment with multiple monitors, active radio and phone lines, and other dispatchers working simultaneously.
+ Requires the ability to maintain focus amid multiple conversations, alarms, and distractions.
+ Frequent sitting and handling of communications equipment, with occasional lifting up to 20 lbs.
+ Must be able to work any assigned shift with notice, including early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays, and maintain regular attendance.

Summary/Objective
The Dispatch Coordinator serves as the first point of contact for inbound customer calls, online leads, and after-hours notifications. Classify opportunities per SOP: Emergency vs. Non-Emergency; Service (direct production) vs. Inspection/Sales (Inspector).
Communicate inspection fee policies, collect approvals, and send invoices when applicable.
Capture complete intake data at first contact: customer, property, ownership, insurance (if available), loss description, time of loss/call, lead source.
Return missed calls and voicemails promptly; monitor Teams messages for after-hours notifications as directed.
Job Creation & File Setup
Create new jobs in DASH with correct classification and metadata; convert qualified leads into jobs.
Create and organize physical/digital folders for field teams when required.
Initiate onboarding documents (e.g., G2/authorizations) and ensure they are sent, signed, and filed to the job.
Update the job board and internal logs with new jobs, status changes, and key milestones.
Enter jobs into supplemental systems (e.g., QuickBooks, job number list, pending/billing sheets) as directed by the Coordinator Manager.
Scheduling & Dispatch
Schedule initial inspections and service jobs within established SLAs by job type.
Coordinate scheduling with Production Managers and Project Managers; assign technicians appropriately to workload and skill requirements.

Customer Communication & Support
Serve as the first point of contact for clients during intake, setting expectations on next steps and timelines.
Provide confirmation calls/texts/emails for scheduled inspections/services and communicate any changes.
Conduct post-job quality control (QC) calls per SOP and encourage 5star reviews; escalate service issues immediately.
Relay qualified lead information to sister branches (e.g., Bend) per routing rules.
Collaboration & Workflow
Partner closely with Inspectors (sales/scoping), Production Managers/PMs (service delivery), Coordinators/Estimators (file completion, estimating, billing), and Marketing (lead source tracking/attribution). Daily participation in huddles and production meetings is expected
Maintain clear, timely communication and handoffs; adhere to documentation and naming standards in all systems.
Identify process gaps or recurring issues (e.g., missing intake data fields) and recommend improvements to the Coordinator Manager.

The DPS Emergency Communications Center is critical to maintaining a safe, secure, and professional environment, operating with the highest standards of customer service and response efficiency.
The Dispatch and Emergency Communications Supervisor is essential to this operation. This supervisory, hands-on role is responsible for the overall daily function of the 24/7 communications center, including scheduling, training, coaching, and evaluating the team of Emergency Communications Dispatchers (Telecommunicators). The Supervisor ensures all emergency response operations are performed quickly and in compliance with laws and regulations, while actively working the console when needed. This position requires strong leadership, technical troubleshooting skills, and a commitment to promoting positive internal and external relationships to uphold OHSU's mission and strategic goals.
Function/Duties of Position
Leadership and Supervisory Duties
Lead, supervise, and assist Telecommunicators with call-taking and dispatching duties. Create a positive and supportive work environment that fosters inclusion and belonging for all people.
Plan, organize, and supervise staff, including assisting in developing and implementing work programs, plans, processes, systems, and procedures to achieve performance measures and the mission and goals of the department.
