Operate the Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) and radio system to provide prompt dispatching of emergency units. The transportation dispatcher will work closely with market haul carriers, load crews, plant personnel and market haul scheduler to ensure safe transport of animals to market. RESPONSIBILITIES Work closely with production and scheduling operations to execute schedules based on production needs by coordinating market animal transport and trailer wash requirements. Establish and adjust work procedures to meet the needs of transportation, marketing, plant, and production. Provide timely and accurate feedback on pertinent data and information to management. Communicate with drivers, load out crews and management on a routine basis. Ensure compliance of DOT and OSHA regulations. Conduct on farm training and assessments with drivers to ensure compliance with company and bio-security policies and proper animal handling protocol. Administer and recommend training when appropriate. Timely and accurate documentation of all issues associated with proper administration of department. Prepare various reports for transportation management. QUALIFICATIONS Required: The details listed below are the required knowledge, skills, and/or abilities to perform this role. A valid driver's license is required, and acceptable motor vehicle record. SCHEDULE The hours and days of work are established by departmental needs and at the discretion of management.
