Martin Transportation Systems, is seeking a highly qualified Dispatcher/Driver Manager for our Phoenix, AZ dispatch operation. The individual selected will dispatch and manage CDL-A drivers on dedicated, “JIT', round trip loads while safely meeting revenue and mileage goals for drivers and equipment. Candidates must possess excellent communication and computer skills , be multi-task oriented, and enjoy a fast paced work environment. Associates or Bachelors degree in Business Administration or Supply Chain Mgmt. a plus but not required. Driver Manager / Dispatcher Essential Functions:

• Overseeing, coordinating, dispatching and managing CDL-A drivers to ensure timely pick up and delivery of all truckload shipments from vendors to auto assembly plants or other locations
• Assist with and enforce driver electronic log compliance to HOS regulations and company policy
• Interface with other central dispatch staff, customer service and customers
• Promote driver safety and safe work place performance
• Interfacing and updating computer trucking systems
• Evaluate driver performance and compliance

DRIVER MANAGER/DISPATCHER

• All shifts available
• Candidates must possess excellent communication and computer skills
• Must be multi-task oriented
• Degree in Business Administration or Supply Chain Management a plus but not required
• Previous dispatching experience in the transportation industry preferred
• Previous Brokerage experience a plus

The Dispatcher/Driver utilizes trucks, drivers and product to ensure the timely, complete and accurate delivery of product by performing the essential duties and responsibilities.
Core Responsibilities:
Monitors drivers on duty and coordinates trucks for efficient pickup and delivery.
Schedule loads according to priority and available equipment.
Monitors and schedules company sanitation employees.
Works with garage on prioritizing repairs.
Maintains excellent communication between all departments.
Receives incoming calls from farms & drivers. Handles issues accordingly.
Logs all issues that pertain to transportation and production.
Maintains dept. records such as DVIR's, On-time tracking and Departure schedules
Monitors Samsura for on-time tracking and departure.
Work closely with transportation supervisor to dispatch and assign loads.
Drives CDL class A commercial vehicle and hauls loads as needed
Responsible for being in compliance with all policies and procedures which Smithfield Hog Production subscribes (to include environmental and safety policies).
Assists with special projects as assigned.

High School Diploma or GED.
Ability to work well in a team-based environment with limited supervision.
Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Software.
Previous dispatch experience is preferred.
CDL class A license and 1 year driving experience required
Ability to work a flexible schedule. Day, night and weekend work required
Ability to work well with others in fast paced, dynamic environment.
Ability to be respectful, approachable and team oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment.

CDL Dispatcher Local/Linehaul/Pier

DISPATCHER - Full Time - LTL/Pier/Port

The dispatcher is primarily responsible for the safe and timely coordination of a talented pool of professional drivers in Newark

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate container moves in/out of Newark ports
• Coordinate moves between SalSon facilities, and SalSon facilities to clients
• Ensure drivers have proper paperwork and credentials prior to departure
• Ensure that shipping data is entered into the system timely and accurately
• Maximize revenue per load, per day
• Communicates dispatch instructions and expectations to drivers
• Communicates driver issues to supervisors and management and assists with resolution
• Provide leadership, accountability and support to assigned drivers
• Meet and exceed company established KPI’s, monitoring performance
• Adhere to company, state and federal DOT/OSHA/FMCSA requirements
• Provide customer support as needed, answering questions and addressing needs
• Following drivers routes and watching cameras, making sure they are practicing safe habits

The ideal candidate will have:

• Knowledge of drayage, trucking, brokerage, freight forwarder, 3PL experience
• Working knowledge of the Newark Port and steamship lines
• Working knowledge of DOT regulations pertaining to brokering, shipping and receiving freight
• Knowledge of dispatching/load-planning, DOT regulations in order to project arrival times
• Able to work independently and in a team-oriented environment
• Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal
• Analytical and detail-oriented mindset
• The ability to work and communicate with multiple departments and a variety of personnel – both internal and external
• Ability to learn and use multiple software systems
• 1 – 2 years dispatching experience
• The ability to be flexible based on changing business levels
• Bilingual is preferred, but not required
