SUMMARY
Receive and transmit radio or telephone communications to deploy personnel and/or equipment.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
* Conduct computerized criminal background checks and Bureau of Motor Vehicle (BMV) checks.
* Monitors all audio and video surveillance equipment.
* Maintains radio and incident logs.
* Routes and records all telephone calls.
* Enters classified information into the computer.
* Prepare detailed reports.
* Operates information/parking/security booth.
* Performs other related duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
* High school diploma or GED
* Must have a valid State Identification
* Ability to work effectively in stressful situations
* Skills in keyboarding, basic grammar, basic math basic level word processing ( MS Word) and basic level spreadsheet applications ( MS Excel)
* Ability to multi-task such as answering calls, questions, fingerprinting and entering data.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Job Overview
Under direct supervision from the Emergency Communication Center Manager, a higher-level Emergency Communications Dispatcher, supervisor, or training officer, operate communication equipment dispatching personnel and equipment.
Essential Functions
* Operate radio, telephone and computer equipment at base station. Coordinate communication operations for Law Enforcement, Facilities Management, Fire Inspectors, Fire Alarm Technicians, Parking Services, and Student Health.
* Receive and record telephone calls; receive and transmit communication dispatching personnel and equipment to all UC campuses.
* Operate equipment and enter data/queries into the appropriate computerized system; monitor and perform all functions for RCIC/LEADS; monitor computer operations and transmit messages; monitor proprietary alarm systems, radio systems, and environmental control computer; monitor multiple screens and operate equipment simultaneously.
* Maintain radio, teletype and other required records.

The Dispatcher, (LS Tower) serves as a key liaison between customers, Independent Contractors (ICs), and internal departments, with a focus on ensuring exceptional service and supporting operational needs for Healthcare and Life Science clients. **Summary**
Under general supervision, perform duties related to the operation of the protective services dispatch center involving incoming communication for emergency and non-emergency assistance; simultaneously operating a multi-channeled radio system, while maintaining computer-aided dispatch systems and other computer systems. Answers multi-line telephone equipment monitor several alarm systems, responsible for dispatch of medical staff on all codes, and provides excellent customer service to anyone in need of services; and performs other duties as required. The Telephone/Dispatch Operator is responsible for the operation of the telephone switchboard to relay incoming, outgoing, and transfer calls, overhead paging, and other duties as assigned according to the established Hospital and Department policies.
**Essential Functions**
+ Responsible for receiving coordinating and disseminating critical information from various sources including emergency and non-emergency calls for service.
+ Maintains radio contact with mobile/field units to monitor response progress and any needed support. Maintains communication with assigned units.
+ Determine nature and location of emergency prioritize, dispatch emergency personal and/or implement emergency procedures as needed and in accordance with established procedure
