Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: * Maintain communications for all underground departments and surface facilities. * Monitoring of the landline phone, leaky feeder radio, and mine phone system. * Recordkeeping of communications. * Timely and accurately transferring information between supervisors and departments on a shift-by-shift basis. * Working with other supervisors, lead people and departments. * Coordinating the flow of material through employees not under the supervision of Dispatch Coordinator. * Initiating/implementing recommendations to improve the efficiency of the operation. * Monitoring employee call-offs; monitoring and enforcement of the Good Neighbor Agreement Transportation Policy. * Handling/assisting mine emergencies, including understanding ERP and other company response documents. * Working closely with other Dispatch Coordinators. * Controlling and initiating the end of shift blasting. * The incumbent will also be assigned to perform front-line supervisor duties, including but not limited to drug/alcohol testing, personnel issues, coordination of efforts on surface to support underground supervisor and special projects. Coordinates and completes tasks that promote safety and enhance operational efficiency through a continuous improvement mindset. Provides tools for staff to integrate and further improve judgment, knowledge, skills, and techniques. Provide a wide variety of support and customer service tasks within the location. Ability to serve as a substitute school bus driver when needed. Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Answers the phone for transportation, takes messages and serves as first line of contact for parents, general public, vendors and city/state/county officials and others. 2. Responsible for assisting the operation with customer service. This includes answering customer inquiries, answering incoming calls, working with customers at our location and ensuring that all customers are treated based on the Company's acceptable guidelines. 3. Assist with tracking and processing billing/payroll. 4. Monitor and communicate effectively through two-way radios and telephones. 5. Maintain bus routes and student data in routing program; monitor, update and ensure the accuracy of all system data. 6. Respond to parent and student transportation questions. 7. Utilize integrated routing software programs to establish and sustain routes to be as efficient as possible. 8. Verifies accuracy of route times, stop times/ location are correct (route deviation). 9. Run and complete various operation reports weekly or as needed. 10. Read maps, follow written and geographic directions according to route / trip logs. 11. Assists Transportation Manager by maintaining transportation records, various state/federal/district reports such as mileage and fuel report, invoicing, complete purchase orders, and payroll documentation. Complete Purchase orders (in absence of Manager) for vendors. 12. Coordinate Activities of School Bus Drivers and other duties as assigned by the Transportation Manager. 13. Coordinates with Transportation Manager to ensure driver files are current to include all regulatory items are maintained to include the random drug/alcohol program meets or exceeds FMSCA requirements. 14. Work effectively as a team member within the department, building and across the district. 15. Will ensure that all shift routes are filled. 16. Serve as a substitute school bus driver, operate and safely drive in either good or adverse weather, road and traffic conditions while transporting passengers to school or special events. Comply with traffic regulations while operating vehicles in a safe and courteous manner. 17. Communicate bus rules, safety and behavior requirements to passengers; and address improper behavior immediately while using appropriate interpersonal communication skills. 18. Performs other duties as assigned by leadership.
