NATURE OF WORK
This is responsible communications work in the operation of a public safety radio system, multi-line admin/911 telephone system and associated equipment.
Work also involves responsibility for the receipt and transmission of radio, telephone, and computer messages, and for dispatching police, fire, and rescue units and disseminating emergency and law enforcement information on an assigned shift. Work also includes the performance of related recordkeeping tasks. Operates radio, teletype, Communication Aided Dispatch (CAD), various computer systems and telephone communications devices to collect and distribute restricted access, mission critical information to and from law enforcement officers and other public safety workers.
