Job Summary
Responsible for receiving requests for ground medical transport, initiating the mobilization of the appropriate teams, communicating with referring hospitals/services, map reading, math skills and documentation. reports to our Headquarters location in Bismarck, ND and is not a remote position.** This position will assist to ensure adequate, safe, and reliable service to the Cooperative's members. The incumbent will take incoming customer calls and dispatch service orders during business and non-business hours for Basin Electric Power Cooperative (BEPC) and its member systems located across 13 states.
**ESSENTIAL DUTIES**
+ Answer telephone calls for BEPC and member systems primarily during non-business hours in an incoming call center environment. Accurately, courteously, and quickly handle calls on designated lines, updating records accurately and timely and communicating clearly with line crews, office personnel, and member services staff.
+ Coordinate notification of emergency response to situations, which may include power outages, fires, property damage, criminal incidents, emergency medical incidents, etc.
+ Provide customer service support to all customers of SRS, both Cooperative and member systems wide. This includes dispatching work crews and service personnel for member cooperatives involving the use of radio or telephone to transmit information and reports on work progress.
+ Dispatch outage events to assist line personnel & monitor outage events.
+ Monitor & upload information into Dispatch application.
+ Analyzes internal processes as appropriate and recommends procedural changes to improve operations.

Experience at this level may include answering and disseminating law enforcement and emergency information by telephone; updating logs and files of complaints, police actions, and related reports; and operating law enforcement information systems. B. Education: 4 full academic years (120 semester hours or 180 quarter hours) of education beyond the high school level at an accredited college or university. OR
C. A combination of experience and education that totals 100% of the requirement.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION - GS-06:
To qualify for the GS-06 grade level, you must have one year specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level performing the following: 1) Receive and transmit law enforcement communications on a multi-frequency radio network; 2) navigating the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) database; and 3) maintaining records of radio transactions, law enforcement actions, and reports.

Role Overview:

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Take full ownership of ensuring Customer Critical Products are efficiently and safely loaded, transported, stored, lifted, and shipped to their Project Sites.
Assist the Project Manager in the support and management of accounts, including Accounts Payable collections.

Proactively communicate resource needs with all stakeholders.
Contact suppliers to determine update rhythms/communication.
Continually verify all products - quantity, dimensions, trucking requirements, dates, etc.

Setup contractors and all stakeholders in Logistics software/tracking sheets.

Ability to read and effectively interpret small-scale maps and information from a computer screen to determine locations and provide directions.
Searches files, databases or other reference materials to obtain needed information. Depending upon job setting, knowledge to operate the computer software necessary to document flights as well as the skill in radio communications with the medical teams and pilots on medical transports. Maintain a sense of pride and ownership for the program. May require sitting for extended periods of time.
Depending on location of position, work hours will vary depending on patient needs. This may include overtime, call, backup call, nights, days, weekends, and holidays. Attends training classes to maintain certification licensure, keep abreast of new developments in the field, or maintain existing knowledge.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION - GS-04:
To qualify at the GS-04 grade level you must meet ONE of the following criteria:
A. General Work Experience: One year of general work experience that is progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that demonstrates or reflects the ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position. OR
B. Education: 2 full academic years (60 semester hours or 90 quarter hours) of education beyond the high school level at an accredited college or university. OR

In addition to meeting the experience at the lower grade levels, to qualify at the GS-05 grade level you must meet ONE of the following criteria:
A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level transmitting and receiving law enforcement communications traffic via radio net control. Experience at this level may include answering and disseminating law enforcement and emergency information by telephone; updating logs and files of complaints, police actions, and related reports; and operating law enforcement information systems. OR
B. Education: 4 full academic years (120 semester hours or 180 quarter hours) of education beyond the high school level at an accredited college or university. OR
C. A combination of experience and education that totals 100% of the requirement.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION - GS-06:
To qualify for the GS-06 grade level, you must have one year specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level performing the following: 1) Receive and transmit law enforcement communications on a multi-frequency radio network; 2) navigating the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) database; and 3) maintaining records of radio transactions, law enforcement actions, and reports.

Remain flexible for staffing patterns, maintain a sense of pride and ownership for the program, perform data entry at the time of call, work with people in phone conversations involving pediatric to geriatric ages of patients.
Qualifications
Must fulfill yearly continuing education requirements of the department. Must complete orientation for various procedures and other in-service as required.
International Academies of Emergency Dispatch (IAED) - Certified Dispatcher required within six months from date of hire.
