Must be able to act and react to emergency and/or threatening situations in a manner consistent with the law, policies and procedures. Education and Experience 1. Must be 18 years of age or older at time of hire. 2. High School Diploma or equivalent. a. Possess one or more 9-1-1 Dispatcher Certifications, including, but not limited to National Emergency Communication Institute (NECI), Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials (APCO), Powerphone Law Enforcement Dispatch Certification, or Cuyahoga Community College Emergency Dispatcher Certificate. In lieu of a dispatch certification, candidate must have a minimum of two years of police/fire/ems dispatch experience. Candidate must obtain a dispatch certification within 90 days of hire. 3. Must be able to obtain LEADS operator certification within 60 days of hire and maintain certification throughout employment. 4. Successfully complete a thorough background investigation. 5.
