Position Description
The City of Tolleson is seeking qualified individuals interested in joining our team as a Public Safety Dispatcher (Lateral). The purpose of this position is to receive and process state, federal, and tribal emergency and non-emergency service calls; interviews callers and gathers details to determine needed resources; identifies and dispatches appropriate law enforcement and relays critical information using dispatch equipment; Processes and types complete and accurate caller information and disseminates it in both typewritten and verbal form; Monitors and maintains up-to-the-moment status of all emergency personnel; Receives and processes field requests from officers to run driver's licenses, registrations, warrant checks, and criminal histories. Runs queries for wanted persons, vehicles, and property; Maintains records and files; Enters warrants in internal and external systems; and, Performs related work as assigned.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution and two (2) years of working in a Police and/or Emergency dispatch center. Prior law enforcement dispatching experience preferred. Arizona Criminal Justice Information System Terminal Operator Certification - ACJIS TOC within one (1) year of hire required. Valid Arizona driver's license upon hire.
Bilingual (Spanish) highly desired. Prior experience with heavy telephone or emergency dispatching experience preferred. Minimum 35 wpm net typing. Prior experience using word processing and PC applications required.
Note: This position requires rotation shift work, including nights, weekends and holidays.
Physical Demands
Positions in this class typically require: stooping, kneeling, crouching, standing, walking, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
Sedentary: Exerting up to 10 lbs. occasionally or negligible weights frequently; sitting most of the time.

Job Summary:

* Assist other Sheriff's personnel, County departments, outside organizations, businesses, and Federal, state, and local emergency services organizations.
* Maintain the integrity, professionalism, values, and goals of the Sheriff's Office by assuring that all rules and regulations are followed and that accountability and public trust are preserved.
* Responsible for ACJIS entries and removals and checking co-workers' entries.
* Run subjects, vehicles, guns, etc. through the state and FBI' databases (ACJIS) to check for warrants, stolen status, validity of driver's licenses and vehicle registrations.
* Answer all phone lines including 911 calls.
* Maintain order and control over a radio channel.
* Dispatch calls via radio to deputies and monitor deputies while on patrol.
* Maintain absolute confidentiality of work-related issues, customer records, and restricted County information.
* Perform other related duties as required.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TO PERFORM WORK:
* High school diploma or GED equivalent.
* Two (2) years of customer service and computer experience.
* At least one (1) year Dispatch experience in law enforcement.
* Type 35 wpm.
* Must pass a thorough background investigation and background re-investigation every 5 years.
* Terminal Operator Certification for access to Arizona Criminal Justice Information System (ACJIS) is required immediately after hire.
Preferred Qualifications:

Serve as liaison between our field service technicians and customers.
Distribute jobs to field service technicians.
Manage the workload of service technicians in a multi-state region.
Interact with customers to keep them informed of the arrival status of their assigned service technician.
Relay necessary job details and other information to the service technician.
Resolve any customer service concerns.

Years of experience are based upon a full-time work schedule (2,080 hours per year). Key Responsibilities:
* Assign and communicate job requirements and responsibilities to Operators and Road Supervisors
* Day-to-day scheduling, counseling and evaluation reports
* Conduct on-the-scene accident investigations; assist drivers in preparing accident reports and safety violation documents.
* Host driver training and safety courses
* Assist Safety Manager with DOT compliance regarding drug testing and recordkeeping.
* Other duties as required.
Qualifications:
+ High school diploma or GED equivalent
+ Minimum of 2-3 years of transit supervisory experience preferred.
+ Strong verbal and written communication skills & interpersonal skills
+ Working knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
+ Must have a flexible work schedule.
+ Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.
+ Subject to a DOT drug testing and physical if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason.
Physical Requirements:
The essential functions of this position require the ability to:
* Work outside in varying temperature, weather, and humidity conditions-100% of the job is performed outside, work alone and in remote locations.
* Sit for extended periods (up to 6-8 hours per day); frequently walk for long distances and on possible sloped ground or slippery and uneven surfaces

The Dispatcher works to support the university community by providing various services and programs that contribute to maintaining campus safety and security. This individual operates the communications center receiving emergency and non-emergency calls, after-hours requests, monitoring computerized alarm and access control systems, providing police and EMS dispatch and radio communication management.
This position must be able to work various shifts including; daytime, evening, night shifts and holidays.
What you will do:
Receive, record and relay information for service by telephone and two-way radio in CAD.
Records detailed information in logs as required. Maintains officer assignments and dispatches officers based on location in a timely manner to assist in deterring potential criminal activity for emergency situations requiring officer response.
Responsible for dispatching requested calls for service during the tour of duty which includes the following:
Prevention and suppression of crime.
Protection of life and property.
Apprehension and protection of offenders.
Preservation of the peace and maintenance of order.
Enforcement of all state statues and University and housing regulations.
Check to ensure information for field officers are available so only authorized persons are admitted to buildings and monitors controlled access areas.
Document disturbances and incidents and communicates with local law-enforcement during emergency situations. Cooperates with campus staff and external law enforcement agencies conducting investigations.
What you will need:
High school diploma, or equivalent required; an Associate's degree from an accredited college/university in criminal justice, police science, public administration, political science or similar discipline is preferred.
Experience in 911 / Dispatch Center preferred.
Ability to type 40 WPM preferred.
Experienced with Computer Aided Dispatch, Records Management System, Criminal Justice.
Demonstrates a high degree of ethical behavior and adheres to the standards and regulations of the university and legal environment.
Good communications and interpersonal skills; ability to speak Spanish or other non-English language including American Sign Language is helpful.
Information Systems terminals, computerized alarm monitoring systems, computerized access control systems or other computer or technical systems.
Knowledgeable of and ability to accurately interpret applicable federal, state and local laws, codes and regulations.
Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position and daily responsibilities.
Demonstrates good judgment and excellent conflict resolution/mediation skills.
Certifications in CPR, First Aid and First Responder are preferred.
Valid Arizona Driver's license in good standing; must be insurable.
Must successfully pass a drug test.
Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University's Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement and Mission of Grand Canyon University.

Job Overview:
The Service Dispatcher coordinates pool equipment service requests through the use of scheduling software. Responsible for maintaining superior customer service levels in assigned districts. * Track and coordinate part orders for warranty repairs, ensuring proper scheduling and follow-up.
* Maintain superior customer service levels within assigned districts.
* Coordinate and monitor service requests and appointments using web-based scheduling software.
* Collaborate with Service Managers, Technicians, Customer Service Representatives (CSRs), and Customer Account Executives (CAEs) to resolve scheduling and customer issues.
* Optimize scheduling to improve efficiency and minimize operational costs.
* Communicate any potential service delays to customers and field teams, ensuring all customer commitments are met.
* Receive and respond to all customer service requests in a timely manner.
* Handle inbound calls for service requests and make outbound calls for pool closing season.
Qualifications:
* Ability to multitask

Position Description
The City of Tolleson is seeking qualified individuals interested in joining our team as a Public Safety Dispatcher (Lateral). The purpose of this position is to receive and process state, federal, and tribal emergency and non-emergency service calls; interviews callers and gathers details to determine needed resources; identifies and dispatches appropriate law enforcement and relays critical information using dispatch equipment; Processes and types complete and accurate caller information and disseminates it in both typewritten and verbal form; Monitors and maintains up-to-the-moment status of all emergency personnel; Receives and processes field requests from officers to run driver's licenses, registrations, warrant checks, and criminal histories. Runs queries for wanted persons, vehicles, and property; Maintains records and files; Enters warrants in internal and external systems; and, Performs related work as assigned.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED and two (2) years of working in a Police and/or Emergency dispatch center. Prior law enforcement dispatching experience preferred. Arizona Criminal Justice Information System Terminal Operator Certification - ACJIS TOC within one (1) year of hire required. Valid Arizona driver's license upon hire.
Bilingual (Spanish) highly desired. Prior experience with heavy telephone or emergency dispatching experience preferred. Minimum 35 wpm net typing. Prior experience using word processing and PC applications required.
Note: This position requires rotation shift work, including nights, weekends and holidays.
Physical Demands
Positions in this class typically require: stooping, kneeling, crouching, standing, walking, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
Sedentary: Exerting up to 10 lbs. occasionally or negligible weights frequently; sitting most of the time.
