Job Summary: The Public Safety Dispatcher is responsible for performing dispatch functions for Airport Police and Fire, airport surveillance, monitoring access control systems, receiving calls, querying criminal databases, and conducting day to day administrative tasks in the Nashville International Airport's 24-hour Airport Communications Center.
Essential Job Duties:
Monitors all radio traffic.
Uses electronic equipment including the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) and Metro Automated Records Management System (ARMS) to determine vehicle registration, criminal history, warrants, stolen property, gun files, and emergency notifications.

Monitors continuously the communications in the Dispatch office. Initiates responses to security incidents and channels information to approriate responders. Observes all CCTV monitors to ensure proper operation and to detect any illegal or inappropriate activity and alert patrolling security officers to same. Performs other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities
Documents all activities of Security officers, in dispatch log, clearly, concisely, and timely. Log all in-coming telephone or radio requests for service.
Inspects and tests CCTV/DVR equipment to ensure proper functioning. Log and report any deficiencies to Lieutenant or Director using appropriate forms.
Monitors CCTV images to detect any suspicious or inappropriate activity. If detected, dispatch closes officer to area to investigate and eliminate the activity.
Provides courteous and friendly customer serve to any individuals entering the security office seeking assistance.
Demonstrates superior telephone etiquette when answering telephone calls.
Completes assigned goals.
Requirements, Preferences and Experience
Education
Preferred: Some computer course work.
Minimum: Knowledge, skills and mental development equivalent to completion of 4 years of high school, or an acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience
Minimum: 1 year experience in a dispatcher or security setting.
Special Skills
Minimum: Basic computer literacy skills required.

Job Title:Campus Safety DispatcherDepartment:Campus SafetyJob Description:
The Campus Safety Dispatcher is responsible for accomplishing the mission of the Campus Safety Department, to provide for both the security and safety of the Rhodes community. The Dispatcher's schedule will be Wednesday - Thursday from 6:45AM - 3PM, Friday from 12PM - 8PM, AND Saturday - Sunday from 2:45PM - 11PM. This position is 40 hours per week. Shift is subject to change based on the needs of the college.
Job Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED required.
One-year minimum in dispatching or comparable organizational experience (e.g. customer service representative, computer aided dispatching, administrative/office support) preferred.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office required. Must be able to complete an administrative assessment consisting of keyboarding, proofreading, and Microsoft Excel.
Excellent customer service utilizing strong analytical skills, excellent communication, interpersonal and administrative skills.
Job Responsibilities include but may not be limited to:
Administer the Campus Parking Program specifications; management of issuing parking decals, updating parking information and appeals.
Assist with care and maintenance of department equipment and supplies.
Complete required paperwork in compliance with the Campus Safety Operations Manual and College Handbook, including but not limited to: operations notes, data entry and computer aided dispatch. Maintain department records, reports, and files as required and confidentiality thereof.
Dispatch clearly and accurately in emergency/crisis/routine response via 911 and radio when emergency situations arise, in accordance with College and departmental policy, Federal, State and local laws.
Enhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings and workshops as assigned. Complete annually the Campus Security Authority (CSA) training.
Maintain a constant alertness for signs or indications of unusual or abnormal conditions in the Campus Safety office and incoming alarms and calls.
Operate a customer service driven Campus Safety front office. Sometimes under pressure with attention to detail, work with changing priorities, manage multiple phone lines, radio dispatching, monitor incoming door/gate/fire alarms, monitor camera system, while simultaneously and independently, exercise initiative and use discretion and priorities to ensure the safety of the Campus community.
Other duties as assigned.
Regular and punctual attendance is an essential function to perform the duties of this position.
This position is classified as essential personnel, which may require attendance during inclement weather or other times at which the campus is closed.
Work on a daily basis with student workers.
