What We're Looking For:
Education: High School Diploma or GED, required. 2 Year / Associate Degree, preferred. Certification Program in lieu of Associate Degree accepted. Graduate from a formal Cardiovascular Program that is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs, preferred.
Experience: Two years of echocardiography experience, preferred.
Licensure/Certification: Registered CardiacSonographer, credentials RDCS or RCS (New Graduate will have 6 months to pass registry), required.
Additional Skills (required): Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing. Has knowledge and skills necessary to modify care according to patient(s)' age. Has the ability to interpret information to identify each patient(s)' requirements for care relative to his/her age specific needs. Considerable verbal ability to effectively communicate observations and input to nursing staff, physicians, and other department staff.

Position Summary
The Pediatric Cardiovascular Sonographer performs comprehensive echocardiographic exams using all necessary modalities to gather accurate diagnostic information. This role focuses on pediatric transthoracic echocardiography in alignment with department and IAC protocols, including M-mode, 2D imaging, color flow, and Doppler techniques.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct portable, stress, saline bubble, and contrast-enhanced echo studies
Assist with transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) procedures
Ensure complete and accurate documentation and billing
Work independently while maintaining strong organization
Support training and orientation of students and trainees
Participate in varied shifts, weekend rotations, holidays, and on-call assignments
(must arrive within 45 minutes when paged)
Maintain a strong patient-centered approach and effective communication
Follow sterile technique, isolation precautions, and safety protocols
Work safely with hazardous materials and medical equipment
Requirements
Education: Graduated from a cardiovascular technology program or diagnostic medical ultrasound program. Extensive experience may substitute training.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years experience in cardiac ultrasound required.
Certification: BLS certification (American Heart Association/Basic Life Support) required. Registered with American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers in Echocardiography (RDCS with PE) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International in Echocardiography RCCS, required. A Pediatric Cardiovascular Sonographer will need to have at least two ARDMS/CCI registry credentials that are currently being utilized at Lee Health or has one ARDMS/CCI registry credential and successfully completes the Advanced Initiative component within 24 months of accepting position. Fetal Echocardiography registry is preferred.

Maternal Fetal Medicine Sonographer Specialty Job Responsibilities
Communicates effectively with the patient to obtain clinical maternal-fetal history/informed consent from the patient or patient's chart to assist the physician in optimizing the performance and interpretation of the examination, as evidenced by the exam results. Explains the procedure to patients/families and answers any questions to ease anxiety and assure patient cooperation, as evidenced by customer satisfaction. Assists the physicians in performing CVS, Amniocentesis, and image optimization studies using departmental protocols to provide optimum results.
Demonstrates knowledge of proper sterile techniques and isolation precautions as they pertain to the various specialty procedures.
Demonstrates the ability to recognize clinical and/or emergent problems in maternal-fetal patients that may interfere with exams and take appropriate action to resolve them and produce the most desirable outcome, as evidenced by exam results and patient satisfaction. Demonstrates a thorough understanding of IV's heparin locks and central line usage as they pertain to Sonography, as evidenced by observations by supervisor and peers.
Minimum Requirements
Education: High School diploma or equivalent; Degree from Accredited Sonography Training Program
Licensure: None required
Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) Upon Start; Successful completion of the Inova Nuchal Translucency (NT) Program is required within 6 months for team members without the Nuchal Translucency Certification.; Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer - Obstetrics & Gynecology Upon Start
Experience: Two years of hospital or doctor's office-based experience in the performance of specialized maternal-fetal sonography detecting fetal anomalies.
MFM experience preferred.

As a Maternal Fetal Medicine Sonographer at Intermountain Health, you will play a vital role in supporting our clinical team, ensuring our patients receive the best care by:
Demonstrates the ability to perform High level Maternal Fetal Medicine imaging.
Completes and annotates a medically acceptable exam and follows the system standard scanning protocols producing the maximum diagnostic information in a minimal amount of time.
Follows appropriate processes for performing the appropriate exam, completing exams, and ensuring all exams transfer to PACS.
Follows appropriate protocol for medical necessity, coding, and charging, obtaining consents if necessary, documenting any events that may occur, for quality, and reporting any equipment failures or problems.
Participates in and attends Maternal Fetal Medicine clinical training.
Actively participates in process improvement project that improves patient experience, quality, access, etc. Sites may also choose to assign MFM sonographers as one of the following: System superuser, Quality Technical lead, research lead sonographer, equipment lead sonographer, education lead sonographer, or other needs related to the department.
Minimum Qualifications
ARDMS: must be registered in OB/GYN or Fetal Echo, required.
ARDMS: In addition, supports MFM research studies as directed and meet quality standards outlined by the medical director/manager for AIUM Detailed Fetal Anatomy Examination (76811) accredited practices required.
Demonstrates the ability to independently perform complex and challenging exams according to department specific requirements, required.
Subject matter expert for advanced technologies, techniques, and practices, required.
Basic life support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers, required.
PreferredQualifications
Three years of experience in OB and MFM with at least one year of those years in MFM, preferred.
Carrying, Hearing/Listening, Lifting, Manual Dexterity, Pulling/Pushing, Seeing, Sitting, Speaking, Standing.
