Use specialized equipment, such as calipers, lensometers and lens gauges. Keep an inventory on frames and contact lenses to ensure product variety and customer satisfaction. Repair broken frames. Educate patients on how to wear and maintain glasses and contact lenses. Perform administrative duties, such as managing prescriptions, patient records, and insurance. Submit necessary documentation to insurances to obtain replacement glasses as necessary. Provide clinical support to Optometrist as permitted by state license. Collaborate with schools to support the provision of vision services for children throughout Health Partners service areas. Assist with the setting up of mobile equipment. Document all patient care provided according to policy. Adhere to the Health Partners of Western Ohio Integrated Health Care Philosophy. Participate in Performance Improvement/Risk Management Program. Utilize supplies in a cost-effective manner and has responsibility for ensuring that the vision department stays within budget. Demonstrate effective communication skills. Establish and maintain professional working relationships with other members of the vision care team.
