What we need
The Field System Operator Trainer will educate and train our maintenance on our Symbotic automated robots and other system-related assets; such as our automated robotic fleet vehicles. An Automation Technician Trainer will become the system expert with a focus on mechanical, PLC, electrical or electronic subsystems related to our robotics systems.
What we do
The Field System Operator Trainer is part of the Customer Operations organization. As part of the Customer Operations organization, the training team is tasked with going to our customer sites and leading the training, coaching, and development of both Symbotic and client personnel. The training of the site personnel will be a mix of classroom training and hands-on training. The Field Operations Training team is also a key resource to the development and success of our employees at our customer site
What you'll do
The position is responsible for designing, creating, and delivering training programs.
Responsible for product training, process training, and technical training support to sites and internally when required.
Train on-site personnel with how to maintain Symbotic rover bot health, cell health, and operations flow.
Escalate customer related issues to the appropriate departments and product owners.
Track and document the System Operations team's growth and report up to their managers for the duration of the training period.
Provide support to other customers at the direction of the Manager, Field Training.
Partner with cross functional teams and leaders to identify ongoing training needs.
Suggest improvements to training events, programs, and material to improve effectiveness and meet evolving needs of the business.
Acquire, maintain, and actively provide working knowledge of all products and processes.
Identify methods and opportunities to make diagnoses & repairs cost efficient.

What you'll need
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required.
Minimum of 3 years in training or instructing experience preferred.
Ability to lead discussions effectively as a speaker in a public forum.
Knowledge and experience in adult education.
Ability to develop, deliver online training as well as live training.
Ability to react and adjust quickly to training needs based on trainee's ability and balanced against a variety of customer requirements.
75% domestic travel required.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and SQL.
Our Environment
Remote, field-based position.
Travel is required up to 75% of the time. Employee must have a valid driver's license and the ability to drive and/or fly to client and other customer locations.
The employee is responsible for owning a credit card and managing expenses personally to be reimbursed on a bi-weekly basis.
The employee is frequently required to walk and reach with hands and arms.
The employee is routinely required to work at heights of up to 45 feet and within restrictive areas of 24 inches. to stand; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Must comply with all safety requirements and protocols, including without limitation Lock out tag out safety protocols and fall protection safety protocols.
Approximately 75% of time will be spent on a construction site with PPE required (hard hat, safety vest, steel toes, eyeglasses, ear protection, fall protection (e.g., safety harness).
There will be steep stairs to climb into the structure. You may be required to routinely walk up and down stairs to navigate the automation structure.
You will regularly be near railings that are high off the ground.
Subject to environmental conditions, protection from weather conditions but not necessarily temperature changes. Must be capable of working in temperatures ranging from 105° to 32° Fahrenheit.

He/she participates in training, problem solving, and addressing issues on the machine. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: (other duties may be assigned)
Responsible for training and providing support to team members.
Ensures adherence to procedures, regulatory compliance, and environmental health and safety requirements.
Suggests changes to equipment and processes to improve efficiency of operations.
Set-up for machine operation.
Places rolls of face paper and backing substrate on shafts and positions correctly on machine.
Turns control dials of machines to regulate speed of substrates, temperature of drying ovens, and flow of adhesive.
Operate machine at maximum speed for each product.
Check pre-production (set-up) samples for correct pattern materials, web dimensions, etc.
Provide test samples, as required, to Quality Assurance.
Check materials pre, in process and post production using calipers and rulers.
