WAREHOUSE DISTRIBUTION ASSOCIATE

Our top client is looking for a Warehouse/Distribution Associate to join their team in Maynard, MA. As the Warehouse Distribution Associate, you will assist with the shipping/receiving dock and inventory. You will be working in a fast-paced environment with a rapidly growing next generation telecom hardware provider. This role requires someone who can perform multiple job functions in a startup environment with minimal supervision. This position is 100% onsite M-F.


REQUIREMENTS:

• 1 year + of warehouse/distribution experience
• Shipping/receiving experience
• Basic Excel and math experience
• Physical requirements
• Ability to lift 30 lbs
• Long amounts of sitting
• Bending, lifting and reaching
• Good communication + attitude

PLUS SKILLS:

• International shipping experience
• Experience w. large carriers such as UPS/FedEx
• Inventory experience

DAY-TO-DAY:

• Shipping/ Receiving and export logistics including RMA shipping/logistics support
• Coordinates international shipping logistics, generates commercial invoices and country specific paperwork. Ensure the company maintains compliance with international shipping requirements. Prepares all shipping documents in a timely and accurate manner.
• Receives incoming shipments for DOF model with contract manufacturers
• Works with CM to ensure proper packaging of product and custom labels that are required by the customer.
• Coordination of freight carriers to arrange for pick-up and transit to customers- 90% international shipping.
• Troubleshoots lost or delayed shipment and resolution of problem freight invoices.
• Production Planning/Inventory Control area:
• Production Control responsibility for work order/job maintenance, job closings, tracking inventory variances. Job/work order planning, release and maintenance.
• Coordinate with Sales Operations, Supply Chain and Program Management Teams to ensure backlog and customer priorities are met.
• Perform and monitor all inventory reconciliation for production Bill of Materials in inventory system. Ensure timely ECO implementation on BOM's and production work orders.

Direct supervision of Material Scheduling, Distribution & Deployment, Shipping, Receiving, and Warehouse. Manages the entire warehousing & distribution process from receiving, shipping and delivering 6 days a week in an operation that produces premium, fresh-baked food products. Directs the work activities of salaried and hourly employees. Drives continuous improvement process, identifies improvement opportunities and applies appropriate tools to improve bottom-line results and enhance the Company's competitive position. Develops the capabilities and competencies of employees through ongoing training, coaching, and mentoring; promotes employee engagement, empowerment, and teamwork. Ensures full compliance with all applicable Federal and State laws and regulations, as well as Company policies and standards related to safety, quality, and workplace conduct.
Principal Accountabilities

* Manages and directs all shipping activities including product flow between source plant and the offsite distribution center, inbound receipts from external sources, and outbound distribution to depot network.
* Oversees third party transportation partners that are responsible for delivering inbound finished goods, ingredients and packaging as well as transporting and unloading all depot deliveries.
* Develops weekly reports for warehousing, shipping and receiving for productivity, inventory and shipping accuracy.
* Enforces company policies and procedures; maintains good employee relations and develops and delivers training.
* Develop and submits annual departmental budgets and objectives
* Drives operational procedures for incoming and outgoing product shipments, inventory guidelines, and warehouse inventory
* Manages contracts, 3PL relationships and inventory flow for several local outside storage warehouses
* Creates floor plans for storage space to manage inventories for all departments and support FIFO (First In, First Out)
* Manages ingredients, packaging, and finished goods inventory based on company's initiative to reduce inventory and improve cash flow
* Approves hiring and is responsible for selection and training of Distribution, Scheduling, Purchasing, Shipping and Receiving personnel.
* Collaborates with Sales, Production, and Purchasing for receiving and shipping of products and ingredients
* Collaborates with Corporate Supply Chain to validate the most accurate forecast for Bakery and Biscuit products.
* Manage direct support for Bakery and Biscuit Production Schedules to maximize customer demand, achieve goals for inventory levels and customer service.
* Develop inventory tracking, reporting, and troubleshooting that impact Finished Product, WIP, Ingredients, and Packaging inventory accuracy.
* Fully understands SAP transaction for Purchasing, Scheduling, Shipping, Receiving, and Warehouse functions

Job Complexity

* Must possess the ability to overcome resistance to organizational change, influence both hourly and salaried employees to embrace it, and lead the change initiative.
* Must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize based on business needs.
* Must develop and maintain rapport with employees at all levels.
* Must be able to present relatively complex Continuous Improvement concepts effectively to diverse groups ranging from hourly production workers to Plant Leadership Team members.
* Must stay current with respect to new lean concepts and methodologies, evaluate their application for the plant and make recommendations to management.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Education

* Bachelor's degree from a four year college or university desired or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience

* 5 - 7 years of related, progressively more challenging management/supervisory experience.
* Computer Proficiency in Microsoft Office (e.g. Excel, Word and Powerpoint), and SAP required. Transplace proficiency nice to have
* Cross-functional operations experience with a proven track record of delivering successful business results in the areas of customer service, distribution, safety, quality, and cost
* Comprehensive knowledge of OSHA standards, HACCP guidelines, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), etc.
* Ongoing passion to identify continuous improvement opportunities and lead initiatives to deliver bottom-line results.
* Outstanding analytical, problem-solving, and decision making skills.
* Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written). Must possess strong training/facilitation skills.
