The Sales and Marketing Director will be responsible for generating and managing leads to qualify prospects and guide them through the transition of moving into their new home. Responsibilities
Hire, train, coach, and mentor all members of the sales team.
Solicit, negotiate and book new business through proactive direct sales efforts.
Build on existing relationships to maintain and grow our current customer and account base.
Capture your client's vision and effectively convey their needs and requests within the hotels.
Respond to all client inquiries, requests and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
Develop rapport with key industry players in the community, including the local Convention & Visitor's Bureau.
Meet or exceed weekly sales call goals to maintain your sales pipeline and monitor sales activity of the team to ensure they are focusing on the right business opportunities.
Plan for success by participating in weekly sales meetings, recording and acting on future traces for accounts, customers and events, writing action plans and by preparing the annual marketing plans.
Assist with financial reporting and other information as requested by management and/or owners.
Support the goals of the hotel through teamwork and collaboration with all departments.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Hotel Management, Business or Marketing preferred.
At least a minimum of 5 years' experience as a DOSM/sales leader, with prior hotel sales experience.
Area/Regional sales oversight of multi-hotels preferred.
Experience dealing with/communicating with ownership groups and asset management.
Proficient in managing/using sales automation (i.e. DELPHI or alternative) & PMS systems.
Experience working collaboratively with revenue management & operation teams.
Well-rounded knowledge of all market segments and channel distribution sources, as well as ability to develop a strategic plan for each.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment.
Ability to direct, lead, train, motivate & drive a direct sales team; and develop a cooperative & competitive team spirit & winning attitude.
Must be proficient in MS Office including Word, Excel, and Power Point.
Must be able to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines.
