Palomar Health district supervisor job description

This District Cardiology Supervisor position will cover both Palomar Medical Center Escondido and Palomar Medical Center Poway.

Under the direct supervision of the Manager, the Supervisor oversees the daily activities of District Cardiac Services including echocardiography, TEE's, Cardiac Stress Tests and Vascular ultrasound throughout Palomar Health to facilitate a smooth workflow and effective communication processes among caregivers. Ensures the delivery of quality, timely and efficient services. Assists in developing policies, protocols and procedures to measure and improve the quality of Cardiac Services and improve patient experience. Responsible for the assessment, evaluation, mentoring/coaching of staff ensuring adherence to Palomar Health principles and policies. Assist department manager/director with budget preparation and other leadership roles as deemed necessary by department leadership. Assess staffing needs and communicate to management the need for staffing adjustments to meet work volumes. Coordinate Cardiac Services in a manner designed to promote efficiency, continuity of patient centric care. Work closely with physician dyad to promote and implement best practice. Acts as a liaison between other departments to effectively communicate and coordinate timely delivery of exams and reports. May be required to cover patient care shifts in cases of emergencies or urgent departmental needs and be able to assist the physician in the performance of specialized invasive and non-invasive procedures performed by the department. Maintains the safety of diagnostic Cardiology equipment and creates a safe environment for patients, staff and the public. Maintains appropriate staffing levels, monitors patient delays and intervenes when necessary to assure timely and quality customer service.

Ability to speak and read English at a level that is sufficient to satisfactorily perform the essential functions of the position. Knowledge of standard office equipment (i.e., calculator, fax, photocopier) and personal computer and computer software skills (i.e., MS Windows, Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, internet, e-mail). Supervisor handles customer's problems and service requests to the customer's satisfaction, collects all open routes and collect payments from carriers and customers, and trains carriers to assure every possible chance of success.
MINIMUM JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

* THIS IS A SALARIED NIGHT POSITION
* Must be in generally good physical condition. Candidate should be free of leg and back medical conditions. • Must be able to lift 40 lbs., • Must be able to bend and stoop to lift bundles.
* Must be able to push and pull carts of papers that could weigh over 1000 lbs.
* Must be able to walk with 30 lbs. in each hand to move bundles of papers.
* Must be able to assist with the unloading of trucks with up to 4000 bundles of papers daily or as needed.
* Must be able to handle delivery of open routes, getting in and out of the car, walking, handling steps and maneuver on average 3 to 4 flights of steps while delivering apartment complexes. Normal RTD route delivery is 2-3 hours, TMC/Sunday Direct normal route delivery is 4 to 5 hours. District Supervisor may be required to enter and exit a vehicle 200 - 300 times per day.
* Should be able to stand in the warehouse on concrete floors for 2 to 3 hours at a time.
* Should have no trouble reading list of addresses, numbers and following a map.
* Must have good oral communications and good command of the English language to communicate with customers.
* Computer skills.
* Be able to understand and operate an Smartphone(i.e.: IPhone)

  1. Must be able to stand up to an eight (8) to ten (10) hour shift on a hard surface floor in order to perform all type of job duties and responsibilities.
