Basic Function and Overview: The Lift Attendant is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of mountain lifts and the guests who use them. Lift Attendants spend their days helping guests, of all skill levels, load and unload from lifts, in an outdoor mountain environment. Essential Tasks and Responsibilities: Duties include, but are not limited to: Perform daily pre-operation checks of the lift to ensure safe operation and sign documents certifying that these inspections are completed. Assist with shoveling and raking snow and chopping ice on a regular basis to maintain proper ramps, corrals, and work areas. Operate the chairlift in a safe and responsible way, complying with all safety protocols and procedures. Load guests onto the chair in a safe and responsible manner. Maintain load and unload ramps and areas around all lift stations to ensure clean and safe work/ski environments. Identify and report any unusual problems or hazardous conditions to a supervisor to ensure the public's safety. Maintain knowledge of all policies, procedures, and rules regarding operating and riding a ski lift. Be aware of all safety components, policies, and procedures for the lift and be able to execute them correctly during daily shifts and in case of an emergency.
