We are seeking a CAD Team Manager to lead and oversee our computer-aided drafting team, which consists of team members spread across multiple offices. The CAD Manager will play a key role in ensuring the quality, efficiency, and consistency of CAD deliverables across the firm's transportation projects. This role combines technical production work with leadership responsibilities, including team coordination, resource planning, recruiting, training, and performance management. Technical & Quality Oversight Develop and prepare detailed plans, profiles, and cross-sections for transportation projects (traffic signals, lighting, signing/striping, temporary traffic control, Intelligent Transportation Systems, roadways, and intersections). Apply CAD standards, client requirements, and agency specifications (e.g., DOT, municipal). Review and incorporate survey data, field notes, and design markups into drawings. Coordinate with engineers, planners, and project managers to meet deadlines and project goals. Manage electronic files and ensure compliance with project documentation protocols. Provide technical support for all CAD software Conduct quality control reviews to ensure compliance with standards and best practices. Serve as a resource and trainer for CAD software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, ProjectWise, etc.) and agency standards. Develop, maintain, and update CAD standards, documentation, libraries, and templates. Attend training to stay up to date with the leading edge of CAD trends, technology, software, and tools related to the transportation industry. Team Coordination & Resource Planning Facilitate weekly CAD resource meetings and manage workload distribution. Prioritize CAD assignments across internal and external support teams. Communicate with project managers/design teams to resolve prioritization or resource issues. Monitor timesheets, vacation requests, and workload forecasts. Team Leadership & Development Conduct performance reviews and employee check-ins. Provide feedback, coaching, and corrective action when needed. Support career growth and training opportunities for CAD staff. Lead recruiting efforts, including resume reviews and candidate interviews. Operational Support Coordinate CAD software licensing, equipment, and IT needs with internal and external partners. Recommend when external CAD resources are needed. What are we looking for? 8+ years of experience in CAD production within civil/transportation engineering. Prior leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred. Advanced proficiency with AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D, MicroStation and/or OpenRoads, ProjectWise, and other industry CAD tools. Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills. Knowledge of transportation agency CAD standards and practices. Ability to balance technical work with team leadership responsibilities. Sales and Growth * Report on all PgM bids in the region and take part, and/or ensure, necessary PgM SME leadership participation in all major PgM bids. * Owns coordination of the forming of capture and program teams as part of PgM bids and mobilization, in partnership with peer RBLLs. * Works with the regional Strategy, Sales & Growth Team to analyze and understand long, medium- and short-term PgM opportunities to advise strategic planning and pursuit prioritization. * Plans and attains annual Bookings target and maintains relevant Backlog. PgM Operations * Works with local program and project managers to understand, oversee and report on the ongoing performance of programs and projects in delivery to identify where support may be required for successful delivery. * Ensures the consistent application of the AECOM Way of Program Management throughout the program portfolio, including proper initiations and the necessary employment of PgM digital systems. * Responsible for PgM P&L including revenue generation, margin achievement, DSO, G&A, SCM, project delivery, client satisfaction, staff use, safety, claims resolution, and quality.
