Position Summary
DLR Group is seeking a Senior Medical Planner to lead and shape innovative, human-centered healthcare environments across a range of project scales. Key Responsibilities
Lead the development of planning concepts, functional programs, and strategic and medical space planning for healthcare projects.

Facilitate user group meetings and stakeholder workshops, using evidence-based and patient-centered design approaches.

Qualifications
Required:
12-20+ years of experience in healthcare facility design, planning, and programming.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture or related discipline.
Demonstrated expertise in planning and design of inpatient, outpatient, or specialty healthcare environments.
Deep knowledge of clinical workflow, room-by-room planning, and departmental relationships (ED, OR, Imaging, Inpatient Units, etc.).
Strong understanding of FGI Guidelines, building codes, and healthcare licensing requirements.
Advanced communication skills with the ability to facilitate clinical meetings and present ideas clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Portfolio that demonstrates impactful leadership on large, complex healthcare projects.
Preferred:
Architectural registration (RA) strongly preferred.
ACHA or EDAC credentialing.
Experience with integrated project delivery (IPD), Lean design, or alternative delivery methods (e.g., design-build).
Familiarity with data-driven design approaches and healthcare analytics.
Active involvement in professional organizations (e.g., ACHA, AIA Academy of Architecture for Health, HFMA, etc.).

As ESA's Senior Urban Planner - Community Planning & Business Development you will focus on managing projects, directing select project efforts, fostering internal collaboration, and driving business development. Your role will include overseeing project delivery, enhancing interdepartmental coordination, and expanding business opportunities while ensuring high standards and client satisfaction.
Primary Responsibilities:
Project Management and Delivery:
Lead and manage community, climate and resilience planning projects, such as Specific Plans, Master Plans, Area Plans, Neighborhood Plans, General Plan Updates, Coastal Plans, due diligence, entitlement permits, Climate Adaptation Plans, Sustainability Plans, zoning and design standards, environmental justice, community engagement, and related work.
Oversee project schedules, logistics, budget tracking, invoicing, and team communications to ensure timely and successful project delivery.
Apply critical thinking to adapt techniques and procedures in the development of work products for clients.
Manage multi-disciplinary project teams and subconsultants, ensuring high-quality deliverables and regulatory compliance.
Contribute to the organization's innovation program by exploring and integrating new technologies to improve workflows.
Internal Cross-Collaboration:
Leverage communication, coordination, and teamwork among ESA's business lines and regions to achieve organizational goals.
Organize and lead interdepartmental meetings and initiatives to align strategies and share information.

Under the supervision of an attorney, you may draft and revise documents related to the acquisition, development, zoning, subdivision, and site planning of real estate and easements.
You will prepare applications and supporting documentation related to land use including zoning and entitlements.
You may work independently or manage project teams, guiding them through the zoning or entitlement process.
Perform other work-related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience preparing and filing project applications and effectuating permits in local and state jurisdictions
