Essential Functions & Responsibilities The physician serves as medical director for skilled nursing facilities (SNF) and participates in administrative and quality initiatives for the facilities he or she is responsible for; Medical directorship functions include attending and participating in monthly quality assurance and process improvement meetings; participating in quality improvement initiatives; providing guidance to facility staff; reviewing and revising (if necessary) facility's clinical guidelines; insuring compliance with state and federal regulations, training facility staff; and supervising facility clinical staff. In addition to the medical director role, the physician also serves as the attending physician for the residents residing at each facility; The physician collaborates with Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants to manage day to day resident care at each facility. They are treated and seen in the same area. average between 20-30 consults/month. anywhere between 15-25 follow up patients/day. There are 6 exam rooms for the providers to see consultations and follow up in addition to the infusion rooms. Cancer Program accredited by the Commission of Cancer and also part of the Lung Cancers Centers of Excellence with the GO2 Foundation for our lung program. Medical Oncologist and NPs use the Meditech system for both scheduling and dictations, etc. 2 very experinced NPs in the practice. NP to take first call, then work with the Medical Oncologist on consults after hours and on weekends. 4 Patient Navigators - 1 primarily for Lung cancer, also Head & Neck cancer.
