A postdoctoral fellow position is available in the Section of Molecular Hematology & Therapy, Department of Leukemia at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center under the mentorship of Michael Andreeff, MD, Ph.D. We are seeking a highly motivated and innovative individual with advanced clinical experience in hematologic malignancies and technical expertise in cell, molecular, or cancer biology to lead a project focused on developing new analytical modalities for identifying novel vulnerabilities and creating hypothesis-driven, mechanism-based molecular targeting strategies for drug-resistant leukemias. The postdoctoral fellow will conduct research on cell death and cell survival pathways, as well as mechanisms of drug resistance in myeloid leukemia stem cells, through a combinatorial study using molecular biology methodologies.
