On July 7, 1962, a group of local physicians opened Doctors Hospital of Modesto to provide healthcare services to the community.
In 1974, exactly 100 years after the hiring of the first U-M “house physician”, the House Officers Association became the official collective bargaining organization for U-M interns and residents.
January 1977- Doctors Hospital doubles its size with a $3.5-million-dollar expansion.
To better reflect a full and growing scope of services, it was renamed Doctors Medical Center of Modesto in 1979.
June 1993- Construction continues on a new $40-million-dollar complex on Bee Ridge Road.
January 1995-Crowds line up to tour the newly constructed Doctors Hospital of Sarasota.
