Assists maintaining program accreditation with ACGME and applicable councils; prepares and coordinates materials and resources for ACGME self-study and site visit reviews
Assists in reviewing, assessing, developing, implementing and enforcing program-specific policies as required by the ACGME and other accrediting bodies; maintains, monitors and completes all required updates on applicable websites, surveys and electronic databases.
Prepares monthly on-call schedules in the residency management software system and distributes to Medical Director's office, faculty, support at other hospitals who participate in HUH resident training. Provides administrative and logistical coordination of all aspects of medical education programming in the department; prepares, monitors and disseminates faculty and resident rotations, on-call coverage, work hours and vacation schedules.
Monitors and coordinates evaluation process to ensure ACGME milestone evaluations are captured. Assists with completion of Annual Program Evaluation (APE) module and ensures submission to the GME Office. Collates and prepares statistical data on trainees for evaluation sessions including Clinical Competency Committee meetings and semi-annual evaluations.
Monitors and maintains accurate conference attendance, duty hours, and other issues related to training program and compiles program documentation and appropriate statistical data. Coordinates recorf of training on all residents annually.
Plans, organizes and coordinates departmental meetings or special events, including reserving conference rooms, sending and tracking invitations, procuring food and beverage and ensuring vendor payment. Set up room and equipment (A/V tech, conference call if necessary, projector, etc.).
Maintains post-graduate statistical database ERAS (Residency Application Process) AAMC GME Track and related computer systems. Types all personnel and budget recommendations for post-graduate trainees each academic program year
Prepares purchase requisitions for all books, materials, and audiovisual equipment consistent with program budget allocation. Prepares meal stipends, educational leave, travel, and conferences. Monitors and approves resident time and attendance within time keeping system.
Serves as a liaison for residents regarding benefits and Human Resources issues. Completes payroll on a weekly basis utilizing Kronos, accurately reflecting time off, including vacation days and sick days.

Empty trash containers in assigned areas, replace liners, and clean the exterior of trash containers with a damp cloth.
Transport trash and hazardous waste to appropriate disposal areas.
Wear complete uniform as provided and maintain good hygiene.
Observe safety precautions and establish safety procedures for performing work and using equipment and cleaning supplies. Report safety hazards according to policies and procedures, and to Supervisor or designee. Note any required repairs (painting, plumbing, carpentry, or electrical) and report needed repairs to Supervisor or designee.
Maintain patient confidentiality. Adhere to federal law, the Howard University Health Science Compliance Program, the Howard University Code of Ethics, and the Health Sciences Standards of Conduct. Attend annual and periodic mandatory Compliance training, including HIPAA Privacy training. Participate in activities that promote adherence to federal healthcare program requirements. Participate in performance improvement activities.

Position Summary
The Infection Control Officer is responsible for planning, implementing, and overseeing a comprehensive infection prevention and control program designed to protect patients, staff, and the community from healthcare-associated infections. The Trauma Registrar:

Ensures that the data populating the trauma registry is accurate, valid and reliable as possible.
Assists the trauma division in performance improvement and patient safety (PIPS) program by running specific reports from the Trauma Registry that reviews care provided to patients and to identify variations in the processes and outcomes for groups of trauma patients.
Collects and maintains statistical data for the hospital's trauma services including trauma registry. Generate standard and custom reports in a timely fashion.
Represents the trauma service at the Multidisciplinary Trauma Service meetings and survey activities.
Reviews software available from vendors to run on personal computers devoted to trauma services and trauma registry activities. Ensures new software is compatible with existing systems and ensures that trauma service operating protocols are accommodated.
Orients division personnel on the use of trauma service computer software, including operating system commands and procedures to obtain trauma service information.
Participates in the establishment and implementation of the trauma services budget.
Investigates incidents and/or problems relating to trauma registry.
Assesses daily admission procedures for trauma patients to ensure proper identification is attained and to ensure that trauma protocols are initiated.
Participates in activities to enhance technical and professional growth.

The Phlebotomist/ Processing Assistant:
Provides phlebotomy services to inpatients and outpatients, samples accessioning and supports services to clinical areas of the department and other areas of the Hospital as directed. Interacts with a variety of Pathologists, other healthcare providers, Medical Technologists, staff, patients and their families, faculty, Hospital and University officials and the general public.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Collects adequate and correct blood specimens by venipuncture or microtechnique on adults, children and infants.
Thoroughly washes hands before and after each patient contact.
Follows departmental policies to correctly identify the patient before any blood specimen is drawn and correctly labels all specimens drawn.
Displays concern for patients and promotes their comfort and wellbeing as much as possible while collecting specimens. Displays patience and persistence when blood specimens are difficult to obtain.
Conducts glucose tolerance procedures and collects remaining specimens at required times.
Draws other timed specimens as indicated.
Maintains test tray and working area in a sanitary and orderly condition.
Ensures that proper supply levels are maintained and requests additional supplies as needed.
Picks up and delivers a variety of clinical specimens other than blood to the laboratory.
Maintains accurate and orderly log record worksheets where required according to established departmental and Hospital protocol.
Projects an image of professionalism in appearance and conduct at all times.
Receives, processes, and labels laboratory specimens for patient care and distributes specimens promptly to the appropriate laboratory section; properly stores specimens that are not analyzed immediately.
Ascertains the appropriateness of barcode labeling on specimens received from the units; corrects problems with barcode labeling; logs in and places specimens in appropriate location for manual and automated processing by the laboratory sections.
Performs test order entry, add on, specimen receipt, and other required functions in the laboratory computer system.
Aliquots, centrifuges, pours off, and labels specimens for the purpose of separation.
Logs, edits, processes, and labels all samples for reference lab requests; processes reference lab orders via the interface and/or the reference lab computer system and processes laboratory specimens for transport.
Notifies authorized personnel of errors (labeling, incorrect samples, etc.), which prevent sample processing.
Documents all quality occurrences and names of persons contacted according to the Quality Plan of the Department.
Labels and distributes the appropriate specimens to the proper locations and prioritizes the processing of specimens according to laboratory policy i.e. all STAT ECA specimens receives highest priority.
Handles telephone, fax and other inquiries concerning laboratory results, status of specimens, specimen requirements, and Phlebotomy/Central Processing operations.
Assists the technical staff in the clarification and /or resolution of problems specimens or specimen processing concerns.
Generates required copies of all clinical laboratory results on request including computer faxing and manual faxing of results.
Ensures that all laboratory processing documents are properly filed and boxed with proper labeling.

The Financial Analyst provides financial and analytical support to Howard University Hospital. Duties include:
Prepares, reviews, and validates financial statements and reports including budgets, variances, forecasts, pricing, and other financial data. Works with Sr. Financial Analyst on capital request ROI analysis and Service Line analysis.
Reviews departmental operating statement monthly to determine reasons for budget variances.
Reviews actual revenue and expense balances monthly.
Extracts actual revenue and expense balances from core financial systems including clinical accounting system, Lawson financial system and other applications monthly.
Prepares various management reports including bi-weekly overtime, employee overtime report, full-time equivalent report, new hires and separation reports, accounts payable, and service agreement reports for distribution to departments as well as other reports
Assists in the training and education of Howard University Hospital's employees on budgeting process and on the monthly variance analysis process.
Assists in the design and development of financial models and databases.
Performs an array of budget-related special projects as required.
Competencies Required:

As the Director of Medical Staff Services, you will:

Ensures Cerner & HIPPA training and compliance of EMR access process for all Physician Office Staff, Billers and Insurance Reviewers as well as deactivation of access including Medical and Allied Health Professional Staff.

Purpose of Job

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
Operates and maintains imaging equipment to provide high-quality images for patient diagnosis. Obtains quality radiographs of patients in an acceptable timeframe; processes and accurately digitizes images with correct patient data.

Uses appropriate technique and shielding combination to obtain optimal images while adhering to ALARA principles. Programs machine to the proper voltage current and desired exposure time as the physician dictates.
Troubleshoots equipment and scanner to ensure equipment is running smoothly to avoid downtime
Assures that all work areas are maintained in a clean and sanitary manner. Reports all safety hazards that could harm patients, visitors, or other hospital employees or supervisors immediately at all times.
Tracks patients according to department procedures. Identifies errors and takes immediate action for corrections, as evidenced by the Radiology Information System reports.
Ensures rooms are stocked with appropriate supplies and that required supplies are readily available for procedures.
