Duties:

THE POSITION
We are currently seeking qualified candidates for a Lead Software Engineer position for our Platform Engineering team which is responsible for designing and building tools and workflows for our internal software engineering teams. These systems will allow them to build and deploy applications effortlessly, allowing them to focus on building business functionality for their users. Your work will directly support enterprise-wide initiatives, helping teams across the organization streamline operations, improve reliability, and accelerate delivery. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex technical problems and collaborating with other engineers to create high-impact internal platforms. The ideal candidate should have experience enabling IT organizations to work more efficiently, standardize best practices, and reduce friction across the development lifecycle. This includes creating reusable components, automation frameworks, and platform capabilities that empower our engineering teams.
KEYS TO THE POSITION
- 10+ years of experience in software engineering
- Proficient in Python with experience building tools using widely adopted libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, Requests, BeautifulSoup, FastAPI, and SQLAlchemy.
- Skilled in packaging, testing, and deploying Python applications using tools like pytest, setuptools, Docker, and Git; familiarity with CI/CD workflows is a plus.
- Hands-on experience designing, deploying, and managing cloud-native applications using AWS services (e.g., EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS, CloudFormation), with a strong grasp of scalable and secure architecture principles.
- Proficiency in DevOps practices including CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform, Jenkins), and container orchestration using ECS or EKS.
- Familiarity with monitoring, logging, and performance optimization tools (e.g., CloudWatch, X-Ray); AWS certification is a plus.
- Experience building and maintaining published libraries, frameworks, and services that support a wide range of teams/departments
- Excellent written and verbal communication

Responsibilities
Connect with customers regarding new orders to gather initial details about expected installation schedules, designated site contacts, and site conditions if known at this point.
Communicate order specifics to internal operations and engineering teams.
Facilitate dialogue between engineering and customers concerning design requirements, drawing submissions, and related matters.
Collaborate with the appropriate salesperson to address modifications to existing quotes or to generate new quotes for customer change orders on current orders.
Work with production planning staff to relay customer timing requirements and understand the readiness of orders for departure from our facility. Inform customers about shipment and installation plans, including timing.
Negotiate pricing and scheduling with existing subcontracted installers.
Coordinate with the Install Manager to schedule our in-house employee installers.
Coordinate fixes for issues related to shipment quality, damage, inaccurate site information, or installation quality.
Issue purchase orders to subcontracted installers.
Supervise the completion of site-specific installer paperwork.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree
1+ year of relevant experience
Knowledge or background in the construction industry a plus
Excellent organizational skills
Strong leadership skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and experience with ERP systems
Ability to multi-task and handle multiple projects at once
Ability to communicate with all levels within the business as well as vendors/customers.

Strong understanding of Cisco Catalyst Center is a plus
Proven experience with Cisco security products such as Identity Services Engine (ISE) is a plus
Proven experience with Juniper Mist wireless technologies is a plus
Strong understanding of network flow analysis tools
Strong understanding of network routing protocols: OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, OMP, and/or MPLS
Understanding of VMware vCenter, ESXi 7.x, and Cisco Unified Computing Systems (UCS) is a plus
