Pros of working at Dollar Tree

Literally will never say anything kind or nice about this company.

Cons of working at Dollar Tree

They over work their employees like crazy. Part time are still expected to work full time hours without the extra pay. They don't care how long they keep you past close. If your pallet isn't finished or your stuff isn't perfect they will make you stay as late as possible. When you try to say anything about it to them they will start mocking you like you aren't as hard of a worker as everyone else. The labor board should have shut this company down years ago.

Dollar Tree benefits

Tips aren't tip share and you can be reimbursed through mileage.

Pros of working at Dollar Tree

Amused by the immature attitudes of grown woman and the lengths they will go to, to hv friends call into survey line to make themselves look good. The problem they write as they speak so you know who's doing it positive or shoving someone under the bus.

Cons of working at Dollar Tree

District and regional manager don't do what they say, but they want that back room cleaned. Been waiting for shelving and a refrigerator and new office chair for over a year. Corporate does not put any faith in their managers, but they will put problem employees onto other manager because their afraid. Can't get a decent raise because it cuts into district mangers bonus. District manager is a numnut! God help us. CEO is a joke and doesn't care about employees. Just wants that dollar!

Pros of working at Dollar Tree

I was a temporary employee and the work was fairly easy. I did stocking and worked the register. I prefer stocking do to me being an introvert and was able to work efficiently with barely being bothered unless the front needed help.

Cons of working at Dollar Tree

The store is always dirty and management suck. The Managers didn't know who was supposed to work what hours and I applied to be a stocker mostly but I ended up on the register most of the time. Some days I would be ask to stay past then when I was suppose to due to people co workers not showing up. But I don't blame them.

Dollar Tree benefits

My favorite perk was the openness when it came to breaks. Managers allowed breaks if you asked and actually needed it.

Pros of working at Dollar Tree

Meeting people in my community, especially the older ones who seem to appreciate my smile and courteousness.

Cons of working at Dollar Tree

There arent any cameras and people know it and they shoplift regularly. The pay is $8.50 an hour while other similar stores start at $10 or more. I've been there over a year and haven't had a raise yet. I'm told that I will be evaluated and given a raise possibly less than 10 cents. I work hard and I'm never late. It doesnt sound fair.

Dollar Tree benefits

My fellow associates are pleasant and diverse. A gay man, a married lesbian, a manager who is the youngest person of the 7 people working there, and mixed races. We have interesting conversations and we all get along well and work well together.

Has there ever been a repeat customer for the one dollar steaks? Have you tried the steaks there? Any fights ever break out in your store?

Oh yeah, there's two in fact. One named Christoph, he's a really cool Russian guy. And the other I'm not so acquainted with. Not yet, but I've had many intentions to do so. Ohhhh yeah, many. In one instance two homeless men where fighting over a few cans of Pringles and it got bloody, the police where called.

What's your salary? Do people there have degrees? You thinking of dating any of your co workers? Why does it attract very few male employees?

I think the number of female employees has detoured any potential male employees. But because they had so few men and they wanted diversity they hired me on the spot and got me working that day even though I had no previous experience before this job. It's $10.30 an hour which is above minimum wage, but we're right on the other side of the city limits and just on the other side has a minimum wage of $11/hr, though I tool the guaranteed job with lots of hours because they also don't have many cashiers so I get lots of hours. Few do other than one with a nursing degree, but she doesn't wish to pursue anymore and is now the third in charge at the store. A good portion of them though including myself are going to college simultaneously to get a degree. I think I've answered all your questions though out of order, let me know if I missed anything.
