Job Summary
Dominion Energy South Carolina is looking for a Customer Projects Designer I, II, III to join our team in the Columbia, SC area. This is a full-time position supporting Electric Distribution Engineering. The position will be filled at the level commensurate with the successful candidates' education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities.
This role is responsible for the design, installation, and maintenance of electric distribution facilities in Dominion Energy's electric service territories in the greater Columbia area. Candidates in this role will:
* Produce technical designs
* Prepare detailed drawings and exhibits
* Complete engineering calculations
* Analyze electrical load data
* Size equipment based on engineering standards and codes
* Determine location of equipment and ensure safe access and clearance can be maintained
* Secure necessary permits
* Facilitate easement negotiations and acquisitions
* Determine material needs
* Assist in procurement of special order items
* Estimate project costs and timelines
* Calculate estimated revenue and non-standard costs for billing customers
* Coordinate with internal and external customers and stakeholders
* Communicate company policy and procedures and ensure compliance
* Assist operations during construction
* Inspect installed equipment to ensure code compliance
* Identify safety issues and hazards
* Recommend improvements to prevent safety issues

0 - 2+ years related experience;
Basic knowledge of electricity, electric distribution design, electric distribution operation, and use of a personal computer

2 - 3+ years related experience;

Abilities: effectively interact with customers and team members; detail oriented.

Strong knowledge of distribution design, electricity, company policies and procedures and mainframe and personal computer.
Skills: good written, verbal and interpersonal communication; math and technical aptitude. Time management and organization; project management; analytical.
Abilities: adaptable to change, demonstrate initiative, effectively interact with customers and team members; detail oriented.

Project & Communication Management
Partner closely with project managers and cross-functional teams, ensuring information flows clearly and accurately throughout each product's lifecycle.

This is a hybrid position requiring a minimum of three days per week onsite at Waterworks' Global Corporate Headquarters in Connecticut. Responsibilities
Support concept development through ideation, reference gathering, and moodboard creation to communicate design intent
Assist in sketching vignette, merchandising, and product display concepts; contribute to design studies and help identify showroom locations for execution
Create presentation renderings and material boards to support design proposals
Help maintain and organize sample and reference libraries
Collaborate on production details for display fixtures and millwork
Track project timelines and assist in managing design schedules to meet deadlines
Document design meetings and maintain accurate records of design progression and approvals
Provide interior design direction for photoshoots
Other accountabilities as assigned.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or a related design discipline
At least 3 years of design experience, ideally within an in-house design team
Proficiency in AutoCAD and hand sketching to support design development
Familiarity with SketchUp and Enscape is a plus
Experience with luxury brands or products is beneficial
Strong collaboration skills and openness to feedback
Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
Portfolio required
Travel up to 40% based on project needs

We currently seeking a highly motivated, forward\-thinking, problem solving student with an opportunity for a paid internship position in the **Substation Electrical Design** team:
**Essential Functions:**
+ Support Designers with detailed engineering designs using computer\-aided techniques
+ Develop final detailed design packages with an experienced Designer for projects through discussions and meetings with appropriate engineering & construction personnel, design disciplines, and outside vendors
+ Assist Designers in preparing conceptual designs and sketches based on field investigations, project scope, and engineering criteria supplied by project/discipline engineers
+ Perform field visits with a Designer during the design process to verify site conditions, resolve field issues and verify the accuracy of the design
+ Perform technical calculations for substantiating designs
+ Prepare and maintain bills of materials and other supporting documents associated with the design drawing development
+ Verify the "as\-built" conditions of design documents
+ Review vendor projects under the guidance of an experienced Designer
+ Provide support for additional equipment, materials, or services in connection with construction
+ Assist with design services to Engineering upon requests to aid them in the preparation of federal, state, and local license submittals
**Technical Knowledge:**
+ Understanding of electrical systems: wiring, one\-line, three\-lines, and schematics
+ Knowledge of AutoCAD
+ Learn and apply department design/drafting standards and procedures
+ Understanding of industry codes and standards
+ Effectively communicate ideas and directions, both written and orally
+ Demonstrate ability to apply basic electrical theory, technical mathematics, and basic science
**Education:**
+ Must be enrolled in an Associate degree program for Electricalor Electronic Engineering
Interns are paid through our Managed Service Provider Program and are not employees of Eversource\. Payrates are hourly and based on year of graduation and if the role is technical or non\-technical\. Technical rates start at $20\.60 freshman and up to $27\.38 for a senior\.
