**Job Summary**
Dominion's Corporate Risk Engineering group provides loss control support to all of Dominion's business units as well as the engineering interface to our insurers. We are heavily involved in the transition to renewable energy with projects such as offshore wind and battery energy storage. These projects as well as support to our existing facilities provide an opportunity to our engineers to mitigate complex loss control and fire protection hazards that are not typically seen outside of industrial fire protection.
The intern will participate in construction projects, such as peaking combustion turbines, offshore wind, hydrogen blending, peak shaving LNG terminals, and battery energy storage facilities. Project support activities will include participation in the development of fire protection system specifications, design and bid evaluations, construction walkdowns, and participation in and review of system final acceptance tests. All forms of fire detection and protection systems are present in Dominion Energy facilities, including special hazard systems such as clean agents, CO2, low and hi ex foam, dry chemical, hybrid water mist, and water spray systems.
The intern will work with degreed and/or licensed Fire Protection Engineers. Assignments will include applying fire protection engineering principles and standards to develop practical risk reduction solutions. As an intern you will provide real-life examples to assist the individual in the understanding of engineering principles and industrial risk reduction strategies. The position requires a good understanding of related fire protection engineering principles and the ability to apply academics to real-life opportunities. Limited exercise of judgment will be required on details of work and in making preliminary selections and adaptations of risk reduction alternatives. May interface with other departments, contractors. and vendors to gather information and coordinate projects.

Key Accountabilities
Gain firsthand experience in how water utilities support communities and ensure sustainability.
Collaborate with a team of engineers to develop water supply plans, asset management plans, and support various engineering and construction projects for the company's water and wastewater systems.
Provide engineering support to both engineers and operational staff.
Work with Senior Engineers in the Project Delivery Team and assist with the delivery of water / wastewater captial investment projects. This includes design, permitting, construction and startup.
Projects could include new orupgraded water storage tanks, pump stations, pipelines, and water / wastewater treatment plants
Work with Senior Engineers in the Planning Team and assist them with completing engineering tasks such asbuilding/calibration hydraulic modeling for a water distribution system, demand projections, asset condition andperformance assessments, and preparing planning reports and recommendations

Job Summary
This position offers hands-on experience in marine fieldwork and sample processing as part of Millstone's environmental monitoring programs. Responsibilities include multiple days per week working outdoors aboard research vessels in Long Island Sound. In addition to field activities, the intern will assist with laboratory tasks, including microscopic analysis and processing of ichthyoplankton samples to support the fish ecology program.
Job Duties May Include:
* Assisting staff biologists in field sample collection aboard research vessels and at shoreline locations.
* Hauling in field sampling equipment and evaluate catches during trawl surveys.
* Deploying and receiving lobster pots and evaluating the catch.
* Working under microscope to process preserved ichthyoplankton samples.
* Becoming familiar with laboratory procedures and company safety policies to ensure work is performed safely.

* Student working towards a degree in Biology or Environmental Sciences (or a similar discipline)
