Job Summary This position offers hands-on experience in marine fieldwork and sample processing as part of Millstone's environmental monitoring programs. Responsibilities include multiple days per week working outdoors aboard research vessels in Long Island Sound. In addition to field activities, the intern will assist with laboratory tasks, including microscopic analysis and processing of ichthyoplankton samples to support the fish ecology program. Job Duties May Include: * Assisting staff biologists in field sample collection aboard research vessels and at shoreline locations. * Hauling in field sampling equipment and evaluate catches during trawl surveys. * Deploying and receiving lobster pots and evaluating the catch. * Working under microscope to process preserved ichthyoplankton samples. * Becoming familiar with laboratory procedures and company safety policies to ensure work is performed safely. Capture, validate and provide field documentation on EPS meters for required records retention by ERCOT. Provide recommendations for repair or replacement of test equipment. Maintain a record of distribution and EPS meter testing and yearly test reports. Have this available for reference in the event of an audit or questions regarding meter accuracy. Obtain ERCOT Qualified Meter Inspector designation after 1yr of testing experience.
