Legal Assistant
Location: McLean, Virginia office (5 days/week)
ID.me is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Legal Assistant to join our team to provide essential administrative support members of our legal team. This role is instrumental in ensuring smooth legal operations through precise document management, research, and organizational support.
We're looking for a highly organized professional with excellent judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities
Provide administrative support to the ID.me Legal Team, including organizing and maintaining legal files and folders.
Proofread and format legal correspondence and other key documents.
Assist in preparing, formatting, and proofreading legal documents, correspondence, and reports. Ensure proper filing and organization of confidential legal documents, both digital and physical.
Organize, maintain, and track legal documents, contracts, and records to ensure compliance with company policies, legal requirements, and data protection regulations.
Manage and track key dates and deadlines related to legal filings, contract renewals, and compliance matters.
Handle incoming and outgoing mail, including certified letters and documents requiring wet signatures.
Identify and escalate critical legal issues or changes to the appropriate team members.
Handle sensitive information with discretion, maintaining strict confidentiality in all matters.
Gather and manage due diligence materials, including corporate certificates of good standing.
Maintain legal calendars and deadlines to support workflow efficiency.
Qualifications
2-4 years of experience as an Administrative Assistant, Legal Assistant, or related role - ideally within a law firm or corporate legal setting.
Highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage competing tasks in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Strong proficiency in document editing and Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and Adobe.
Ability to independently prioritize tasks and make necessary document adjustments with minimal supervision.
Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
Excellent work ethic, verbal and written communication skills, and proven ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive information with the highest level of confidentiality and discretion.
Familiarity with general legal documents and terminology preferred.
Bachelor's degree preferred.
