• Certified Medical Dosimetrist certification (CMD) and/or experience as a Registered Radiation Therapist, Certified Medical Dosimetrist certification (CMD) is required within one year of hire.
• Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree is preferred..
• Requires ability to work independently, interpreting and executing treatment plans, consulting with dosimetrists, medical physicists, and radiation oncologists.
• Requires strong mathematical skills including algebra, geometry, and trigonometry.
• Requires ability to visualize objects in three dimensions to facilitate treatment planning.
• Requires knowledge of anatomy and physiology.

Our department treats with two Varian TrueBeams, a TrueBeam STx, a NovalisTx, as well as an Accuray Precision and ViewRay MRIdian MRI-guided radiotherapy machine, and an active interstitial HDR brachytherapy program. Treatment planning is performed using Varian Eclipse, Elekta Oncentra, BrainLAB, Accuray Precision, and ViewRay treatment planning systems and MIM software. The record and verify system is Varian ARIA. Under the direction of the Chief of Clinical Physics, medical dosimetrists perform all aspects of SBRT, IMRT, 3D conformal, total body irradiation and HDR brachytherapy treatment planning. Dosimetrists are expected to work closely with medical physicists and radiation therapists as needed to support treatment simulation and quality control, as well as participate actively in departmental quality initiatives and process improvement efforts.
In this role you will work at the UCLA Radiation Oncology Westwood and Santa Monica facilities, as well as other future locations.
