The eligibility list for this recruitment may be used to fill future vacancies in Rifle This Correctional Support Trades Supervisor I (CSTS I) is a Food Service (FS) Supervisor in a Colorado Department of Corrections (CDOC) prison facility. Position oversees the production of meal services for an inmate population which could range from 600 to 7500 meals daily. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: ensuring the safety and security of the public, facility staff and inmates; ensuring efficient meal service to include medical and/or religious diets during assigned shift and supervising inmate work crews in daily kitchen operations; ensuring sanitation and compliance with all applicable regulations, standards and guidelines and ensuring appropriate use of resources and inventory. Preferred Qualifications: * Experience within a Colorado State Agency, providing a service or support to a hard-to-serve needs population; * Experience providing Supervisory/Work Lead duties in a Correctional, Military or Law Enforcement kitchen; * Experience providing Supervisory/Work Lead duties outside of a Correctional, Military or Law Enforcement kitchen; * Working in a commercial or institutional setting, utilizing raw ingredients, following prescribed large scale recipes to create meals from scratch; * Working as a baker in a high volume, batch production bakery, following prescribed large scale recipes, monitoring production schedules and maintaining inventory and supply orders; * Knowledge of converting food measurements to satisfy smaller or larger recipes; * Working as a General Manager, Manager, Assistant Manager, Shift Leader or Team Leader for a national restaurant chain; employment must have included participation in a company endorsed, formal training program for the food production side (back of house) of operations; * Experience in Corrections, outside of a correctional kitchen, performing security related duties while monitoring and controlling offender's movement throughout their daily schedules (such as Correctional Officer); * Experience creating medical and/or religious meals; * Culinary or Hospitality Degree from an accredited, non-correspondence college or vocational school; * Serve Safe or other Food Protection Manager Certification. About the Nutrition Services department: The Nutrition Services Department exists to provide quality food service and medical nutrition therapy to more than 1600 clients in a mental health care facility and the Colorado Department of Corrections (CDOC). With over 100 employees, the department strives, within available resources, to provide adequate nutrition to clients based on medical, spiritual, ethnic, cultural, and mental health needs. You are required to work at your assigned work location during your scheduled work times. The incumbent in this position will prepare and serve meals, snacks and beverages for clients in a high and/or medium security setting while adhering to federal, state and local regulations. As well as prepare food by utilizing conventional and cooked chill production systems and using a variety of cooking methods such as grilling, baking, roasting, steaming, etc. with commercial food service equipment. Food is re-thermed, assembled and portioned by dining services positions in the dining rooms. Candidates in this position will also store food in accordance with food safety guidelines and are responsible for cleaning equipment, production areas, and dishes while following proper safety and sanitizing guidelines. Please note incumbent may be scheduled to work in North Kitchen or dining rooms, based on business needs. Primary Duties: Production Cooking: * Prepares food by utilizing a variety of cooking methods. * Follow standardized recipes, diets, cooking instructions, production sheets, tallies, and load slips to prepare meals, snacks and baked goods. * In the preparation of recipes visually, inspect for correct consistency, color, and texture. * During cooking, monitors and documents food temperatures following Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) guidelines. * Operates and cleans commercial food equipment, following manufacturer's guidelines and instructions for safe operation. * Counts and portions of food items based on census per location Meal Preparation and Service: * Prepares and re-therms food and beverage products. * Takes QA sample bags and stores until testing is completed. * Cooks meals by using various cooking methods and equipment (i.e. combi-oven, griddle, conveyor toasters, etc.). * Prepares meals in accordance to load slips and ensures food safety and sanitation guidelines are followed. * Assembles and portions food items, snacks, sack meals, beverages and baked goods. * Prepares sack lunches for clients as needed. * The position also serves meals/snacks to CMHHIP patients in accordance with the meal report. * The position is responsible for completing an inventory of supplies in their designated production area and orders supplies from North Kitchen as needed by using bread and milk order form. * Receives supplies and stores them in the appropriate location based on the item being delivered (i.e. cold item, dry storage, chemicals, etc.) following First In First Out (FIFO) guidelines. * Assists in the arrangement of a dining area/food service equipment; * Assists in the production, transporting, and serving of food, as necessary. Cleaning and Organization: * Scours and/or cleans counters, cabinets, tables, kitchen equipment, and fixtures in a food service unit. * Washes dishes, utensils, pots and pans by using a dishwasher or 3-compartment sink. * Cleans garbage cans and disposes of garbage. * Pushes food carts to designated locations. Transports dishes, utensils, equipment, and supplies to and from proper storage areas; sets up tables, counters, and trays for service; clears tables and transports soiled dishes to the kitchen. * Sweeps and dusts food service unit; washes, mops, and scrubs floors and washes walls (as assigned) in kitchen and serving areas. * Responsible for maintaining supplies of detergents and other cleaning agents in designated areas. Safety and Sanitation: * Follows policies and procedures regarding utensils counts, key monitoring, food auditing, operation and minor servicing of equipment. * Applies proper sanitation techniques when cleaning production areas and equipment. * Records dish machine wash and rinse temperatures. * Documents knife counts, refrigeration temperatures and food temperatures on designated log sheets. * Ensures all refrigerators and other log sheets are updated daily. * Ensures IOJ and incident reports are completed in a timely manner. * Follows food safety guidelines following federal, state, and department standards. * Monitors and documents food temperatures, following HACCP guidelines. Required to work holidays, weekends, and irregular or rotating shifts. These positions are considered Public Safety Sensitive Positions and must complete a pre-hire drug screening before hire. Must have or be able to obtain S130/S190/L180 certification. Transportation to and from work and associated costs are the responsibility of the employee. Wildland fire boots with a minimum of 8 inches high top, leather lace-type with skid resistant soles are the responsibility of the employee. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities : An engine crew member must have the ability to develop a working knowledge of fire suppression tactics and terminology. The engine crew member will assist in specialized assignments such as: holding, mop-up, ignitions, chainsaw operations, and mobile/stationary engine operations. Crew members may also be asked to construct helispots and assist with helitack operations. Use chainsaws to clear brush and fell trees. Must be physically able to lift 75 pounds and able to pass the current arduous physical fitness standard (Pack Test) for wildland firefighters. About the Work Unit The Temporary Aide Module Crewmember serves as part of a firefighting resource-typically a suppression or fuels module, but may also be assigned to a helicopter module or engine crew, -to provide a wide range of firefighting and related services. GAS SERVICEWORKER Pay Range: $41.42 - $58.29 NATURE OF WORK This is semi-skilled and skilled work in the installation and maintenance of the Gas Distribution System. Work includes the installation and removal of gas meters, performing various types of pipefitting work to repair, maintain, and construct gas mains, service lines, relief valves, regulators, meters setting and rebuilding of meter loops. Incumbents are often required to work alone under general supervision and work is inspected in progress and on result achieved. Supervision is received from an administrative superior with work being subject to review. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The following examples of work are illustrative only and are not intended to be all inclusive: * Issues, edits and completes work orders to properly document work in setting, changing, and removing gas meters, gas leak investigations, CO investigations, ETC. * Creates and edits gas system block cards; uses block cards to locate underground gas infrastructure efficiently and accurately; retrieves data to be used on federal and state reports. Input gas pipeline and equipment data into software packages used for locating and managing gas infrastructure. * Use meters to check condition of gas line cathodic protection; determines where cathodic protection is inadequate; install anodes as required to protect underground gas system. * Performs various types of pipefitting work to repair, maintain, and construct gas mains, service lines, relief valves, regulators, meters, ETC. * Uses specialized equipment to conduct routine inspections of gas infrastructure to determine if leaks are present. Use specialized equipment to investigate gas and CO leak complaints. Detects and documents severity of indoor and/or outdoor gas leaks and/or CO leaks. * Calibrate and use test equipment and meters to perform a variety of instrument/control functions; Calibrates and use test equipment to perform gas leak and CO surveys. * Responds to emergency calls during normal working hours as well as after hours. Periodically assigned to on-call after hour rotations. * Drives and maintains service vehicles and equipment. Uses, repairs and services specialized equipment used on gas systems. * Interacts with meter reading equipment and software to determine condition of reading device. Reads, repairs and changes meter data transmitting devices. Interacts with SCADA equipment to determine health of gas system, react to SCADA alarms to determine if there is a gas issue, respond to SCADA alarms. * Performs skilled work of a specialized nature involving reading complex utility plans and operation of technical electronic locating equipment. Uses a variety of techniques (electrical, magnetic, GPS, blueprint analysis, and/or radar) to locate measure utilities. Coordinate with Utility Engineering and GIS to keep up to date as-built information of the utility. * Responds to customer service complaints or inquiries such as gas odors, gas and/or CO alarms, or abnormal gas usages, ETC. Investigates, interacts with customers and repairs issues as required. * Responds to customer service requests to turn off / turn on customers natural gas supply. * Uses specialized equipment to install and repair gas mains, service lines, excess flow valves, ETC to underground gas infrastructure.
