Job Skills / Requirements Performs laboratory tests and associated support work as directed by the Chief Operating Officer (COO), Laboratory Manager and Laboratory Supervisor. Cooperates and communicates professionally with the medical and nursing staff, and hospital personnel. Uses technical knowledge to effectively make sound clinical decisions concerning lab issues and to troubleshoot instruments. In addition to the previous mentioned responsibilities, the education and POCT specialist will have the accountability of ensuring everyone in the laboratory and anyone associated with the laboratory (clinics, nurses, CMAs, etc.) who need initial and annual safety education, POC training, new employee orientation, and any other educational needs deemed by the hospital or manager.
