Looking for an exciting way to spend your summer while gaining real world experience? Join Egan Company as an Electrical Drafter/Modeler Intern in our Champlin office. In our summer internship program, youll work alongside professionals in the industry while also engaging in events just for interns, including a jobsite ride along, resume review workshop, and more! Our internship program lasts approximately 12-weeks, with flexible start and end dates to meet the needs of your school and extracurricular schedule. With the flexibility of working hybrid, you can collaborate alongside team members with a blend of working in the office and at home.
Learn electrical drafting & modeling methods and become familiar with company systems; assist

Designers and Engineers in performing various design and engineering tasks in support of a designated

project or group of projects.

Responsibilities:

* Navigate and use Egans AutoCAD and/or Revit systems and processes.
* Assist/shadow senior staff by observing, learning and performing the following:
* Perform layout and input of marked-up drawings into Revit in accordance with Egans standards.
* Produce detailed drawings in 3D including installation instructions as required for prefabrication orders as directed by the project team.
* Add to prefabrication catalog of working drawings, wiring diagrams, and cross- sections, as required for fabrication and installation crew instructions.
* Performs verification and preparation of layout drawings to meet customer requirements.
* Collaborate with Electrical Foremen/Superintendents/Project Managers daily on prefabrication orders, schedules, changes, etc.
* Read architectural and structural floor plans, sections and elevations.
* Manage work flow on projects assigned.
* Create and maintain a positive working relationship with internal and external customers.
* Complete As-Built drawings at the end of each project.
* Perform other related duties as required and assigned.

* Promote a positive safety culture by following Egans safety policies.
* Build strong internal partnerships, and work collaboratively with other Egan groups to support Egans Mission, Vision and Values.
* Actively participate in Egans Summer Internship Program and activities.
* Perform additional duties and assignments as requested/assigned.

Position Requirements:

* Currently pursuing a two or four year degree in Electrical Construction Design & Management, Computer Aided Drafting & Design Program, Architectural or Electrical Engineering.
* High school diploma or GED required.

Qualifications:

* Knowledge of/exposure to, with the ability to learn and utilize, Revit and AutoCAD MEP software.
* Proficient in the use of standard office computer programs such as Google Suite and Microsoft Office.
* Strong organizational skills.
* Courteous, professional, diplomatic and highly motivated.
* Ability to adjust to changing priorities and methods.
* Willingness to learn new ideas and concepts and take on new tasks and challenges.

Working Conditions:

Performance of duties will be hybrid with a blend of working in the office and from home. Working from the office or jobsites will be required at times for certain tasks.
