Install rotary knives on flexible cable, mounted on reel machine, according to diameter of pipe to be cleaned. Start machine to feed revolving cable into opening, stopping machine and changing knives as necessary to conform to diameter or contour of pipe. Remove roots, debris, and other refuse from drains. Withdraw cable to deposit accumulated residue, removed from pipe in containers for disposal. Measure distance from drain opening to suspected leak/break. Repair any breaks in piping. Follow safety policies and procedures. Abide by all standards of performance and code of ethics. Maintain a courteous demeanor with all customers and associates. Maintain company vehicle, ensuring cleanliness and organization, both inside and out. Respect the customer's property. POSITION SUMMARY We are seeking an experienced Drain Technician to perform residential and light commercial drain and sewer services. Work may include drain cleaning, camera inspections, hydro jetting, sewer repairs, and related drain system work. They commonly work with various equipment including sewer hole covers, pumps, hoses, clamps, wrenches, Jetter's and other tools. Drain technicians may also be called upon to perform routine maintenance on the equipment they use in their daily duties. This might include checking seals or replacing parts as needed. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Cleaning drains using hand tools such as brushes, rods, and hoses Inspecting drain systems to locate clogs or leaks, using cameras, and listening devices such as stethoscopes to pinpoint the problem spots Installing new pipes and drainage systems according to design specifications Diagnosing problems with drain systems and identifying solutions to resolve them Repairing broken pipes using welding equipment, pipe cutting tools, and other hand tools Cleaning pipes of debris using high pressure water jets or other methods Installing and repairing septic tanks, grease traps, and other pipes related to wastewater treatment systems Maintaining records of work performed on sewer systems Prepare bids, cost estimates, and project budgets.
