Previous events have been in response to blizzard, ice storms, tornadoes, hurricanes and widespread power outages. Foster Fuels' Drivers are responsible and required to ensure their equipment is properly maintained and all records and reports required for DOT and Corporate compliance are met. This individual will work under the direction of a full-time employee.
DUTIES
Drives fuel truck and/or truck and tanker (class A) to pick up and deliver fuel products as required in varying conditions.
Apply knowledge of commercial driving and skill in maneuvering vehicle at varying speeds in difficult situations, such as heavy traffic, inclement weather, or in tight loading/unloading areas.
Abides by all company, DOT, State and Federal transportation safety regulations.
Conducts thorough pre-trip and post trip inspections of equipment for defects and safe operating conditions before and after trips, submits a daily vehicle inspection report on the condition at the end of each day, and performs basic preventive maintenance to ensure fluid levels and tire pressure are maintained.
Maintains records required for compliance with State and Federal regulations and including driver's logs, records of fuel purchases, mileage records and other records required by Foster Fuels or state and federal regulations.
Ensures that all shipping documentation (bills of laden, weight tickets, etc.) required to move with shipments are available for inspection, that appropriate paperwork is provided when delivered, and delivery tickets are turned into dispatch daily.
Reports all accidents/incidents involving driver or company equipment immediately after an incident occurs to the supervisor and promptly reports any delays due to breakdown, weather or traffic conditions, or other emergencies. Also report if there is more than a one-hour delay in getting unloaded or loaded, or in the event of irregularities relating to pick up or deliver of fuel.
•Available to dispatch with Foster Fuels team with in 24 hours of notice of an activation.
Must be able to work flexible work varying schedules while activated.
Must have Demonstrated exceptional customer service in a previous work history.
Experience in related fields such as safety, first-aid, EMS, emergency response, fire service, etc. is a plus.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: * Responsible for the safe and orderly operation of the assigned trip in a manner that promotes public safety, staff safety and the secure and humane environment for inmates, detainees and/or residents. * If qualified, may be assigned as the Assistant Officer in Charge (AOIC) on trip activity unless otherwise directed by their supervisor. * Monitor and supervise inmate, detainee, and/or resident activity per TCA policy. This includes listening to complaints and effectively resolving disputes or problems, taking corrective action, protecting inmate, detainee and residents rights, and completing all required documentation in accordance with TCA policy. * Follow sound safety practices and ensure that any injuries or accidents are reported in a timely and accurate manner per TCA policy. Take appropriate action in cases of serious or unusual incidents and emergencies circumstances. * Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections and briefings as required. Maintain and promote effective communications and the proper flow of relevant information to management and fellow team members. * Maintain communication with Trip Management throughout the routed trip. Consult with Trip Management and/or Field Office Supervisor personnel in assessing situations and making decisions. Will not deviate from planned trip route unless cleared and/or directed by proper TCA authorities. * Complete preventive maintenance of equipment and ensure readiness of restraints, weapons, OIC kits, vehicles, etc. * Ensure effective management and control of resources to include inmate/detainee and/or resident medications and property. * Maintain appropriate relationships and communications when dealing with fellow staff members, all customer agencies and inmates, detainees and/or residents. * Application of restraints and the Use of Force will be strictly followed according to TCA policies and customer contract requirements. * Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned. * Must achieve and maintain Officer in Charge (OIC) certification to be eligible for assignment as an AOIC.

Your Mission

What You'll Do
