Summary:
As part of the Systems Concepts and Design Division, the primary focus of the Nav Aids and Advanced Sensor Technology Group is to engineer and synthesize Draper's advanced discriminating sensor technologies into new platform solutions that enable warfighters to successfully execute their missions by enhancing resilience, precision, and reliability. Programs supported by this group are focused on precision strike, terminal engagement, landing systems, autonomy, performance in contested environments, surveillance, and reconnaissance.
The Group accomplishes their innovative work through the application of celestial object sighting technology, GPS/RF, atomic sensors, vision-aided navigation sensors, terminal sensors, ultraprecision timing and communications.
The GroupLeader is responsible for leading and managing a group of approximately 10 - 15 engineers who have technical and domain expertise related to the group's focus areas and can provide the highest level of support to our customers. The continual advancement of Draper's expertise in developing and maturing the most advanced technologies for navigation sensors is a key focus of this GroupLeader. To that end, the GroupLeader is expected to:
• Ensure the long-term success of the group, and its contributions to Draper, by shaping the group's talented workforce, while maintaining and developing key, differentiating capabilities that align with customer and business needs.
• Collaborate regularly with internal group members, Draper Program Offices, Customers/Sponsors, other Draper engineering groups, and the external technical community.
• Partner with Customers/Sponsors, Draper Program Managers and subject matter experts within Draper to develop and implement strategic plans and technology roadmaps.
• Promote and direct internal and external R&D activities, including development and alignment of research proposals with technology roadmaps, collaborations with universities and direction of scholar, coop, and internships cohorts.

Summary:
The Production, Mission, Operations, & Enhancements Division within the Systems Engineering directorate is seeking a GroupLeader to lead our Production Design, Verification & Validation.
The Division serves as the system integrator for technologies and product lines developed using Draper's core capabilities. The Division plans, executes, and manages I&T activities starting from early test concept development through system certification. This includes test concepts and requirements development, technology maturation, system and sub-system integration, verification and validation (V&V), performance evaluation, and acceptance testing.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to manage all site activities at local or regional level. You will be mainly accountable for:
* Identifying site management staffing needs, and hiring team members to support staffing requirements.
* Leading the implementation of continuous improvements across various Site Management processes and tools within local or regional Site Operations.
* Coordinating on-site activities across the project portfolio, ensuring successful execution of start-up, construction, erection, testing, and commissioning activities in alignment with contract specifications, quality standards, schedule, and Health, Safety and Environment requirements.
* Guiding and overseeing the Site Management teams locally/regionally, ensuring that ABB policies are consistently followed.
* Working in close collaboration with the service and factory organizations in ensuring sites are connected to the central document handling system.
Qualifications for the role
* Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Business Management (Advanced degrees are a plus)
* Ability to demonstrate your experience in 10+ years of experience in data center start-up and commissioning
(OPTIONAL: working as a field service resource or commissioning engineer with low and medium voltage electrical switchgear, switchboards, and other electrical equipment.
* You are highly skilled in low and medium voltage start-up and commissioning strategies and techniques and the Data Center construction market
* You are passionate about the data center construction industry
* You are at ease communicating in English

The Site Leader will provide world class jobsite leadership for large, long-duration, high-profile projects for Vertiv power and/or thermal equipment. WORKING CONDITIONS:
Job assignments will typically be long-term assignments ranging from 4 weeks to 12+ months duration based upon the scope and schedule of the project
If assigned a project not located in the vicinity of Site Leader residence, travel will consist of a field rotation that includes (3) consecutive weeks on the customer site followed by (1) week of a service break in their home office whereby the Site Leader is expected to work their minimum of 40 hours on billable tasks and any administrative duties (i.e. Safety training, cycle counts, etc.) as necessary

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Required Qualifications:

Drive a safety-first culture, ensuring all activities are performed in compliance with OSHA standards, site rules, and company safety policies.
Oversee and enforce safe operations involving heavy industrial machinery, and high-risk equipment.
Maintain a strong presence in the field by observing, coaching, and correcting operations to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant performance.
Collaborate with customer, subcontractor management, and safety teams to achieve operational objectives.
Walk the facilities daily to ensure follow-up on plans, verify execution, ensure conformance to standards, and monitor inventories.
Act as the primary on-site contact for the subcontractor, communicating effectively with customer representatives and internal leadership.
Perform hourly tasks and operate equipment when necessary to support team needs.
Complete daily reports, shift handoffs, and other required documentation.
Treat employees, customers, suppliers, etc. professionally, respectfully, and courteously.
Qualifications:
Previous supervisory experience in heavy industrial, steel mill, or manufacturing environment required.
Strong safety leadership record with the ability to enforce policies in high-risk environments.
Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions, around dust, dirt, and heavy equipment.
Knowledge of railcar and material-handling safety preferred.
Hands-on leadership style, willing and able to work alongside hourly employees when required.
Strong communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Ability to manage a workforce fairly and consistently.
Treat employees, customers, suppliers, etc. professionally, respectfully, and courteously.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to work in dirty, dusty, hot, and cold environments.
Ability to wear all required PPE, including respirators, safety glasses, hard hats, hearing protection, and steel-toed boots.
