A DAY IN THE LIFE AS A DRILLER

As a Driller, you are essential to the success of each job. To prepare blast areas, you set up and operate drills and other related equipment. You monitor drill controls as well as the progress of the drilling operation to ensure that everything is working correctly. If there are any equipment, employee, or client issues, you report it to the Blaster in charge and/or the Location Manager. While ensuring the safe and efficient operation of equipment, you recommend measures to improve testing procedures, use of equipment, and preventative maintenance. Your dedication to maintaining your skills, knowledge of equipment, and vehicle operation makes you a successful and valuable team player at Austin Powder.

QUALIFICATIONS

* High school diploma or equivalent
* 21+ years old
* Experience operating drills
* Drug-free workplace
* Must meet requirements of all state and federal explosive laws and qualify as an ATF explosive possessor
* Ability to work outside in all weather conditions
* Ability to lift 50+ lbs

Class A CDL with a clean driving record is preferred, but not required. Mechanical ability and interest is a plus!

Responsibilities
Job Purpose
Act as the subject matter expert to deliver innovative technology to reduce drilling and completion risk and optimize reservoir production within Drilling and Evaluation. Manage and provide global technical support and training across various Weatherford geographic locations (Geozones), concerning description of in-situ stresses and rock mechanical properties to develop Geomechanical Earth Models for geomechanical solutions on a well, field and basin scale. Lead multi-product line solutions by collaborating with engineers, mid and high-level management to deliver integrated, practical and cost-effective solutions to geomechanical problems.

OPERATIONS
Responsible for global Geomechanical technical support across Weatherford geographic locations (Geozones) Lead multi-product line solutions by collaborating with engineers, mid and high-level management to deliver integrated and cost-effective solutions Manage pre-drill Geomechanics studies (Pore Pressure and Wellbore Stability) to determine safe operating mud weight window and highlight potential drilling hazards Manage real-time decision support to the drilling team to maximize drilling efficiency and minimize risk while achieving the well objective Assist Drilling Engineering team in post-well root-cause analysis Perform Peer Review and participate in Drill Well on Paper Exercises Participate in core selection, performing Geomechanical tests on selected samples and QC of results Work with Drilling and Evaluation Software Team to develop and test software which provide Geomechanics solutions. Help with deploying same to Segments and clients for field testing and final implementation Work closely with Technical Sales and Operations Support to advice clients on drilling, well placement, stimulation and sanding issues, through early engagement Keep up to date and reviews new technology for possible application to projects Support continuous improvement by using Weatherford systems to circulate information about best practices, lessons learned, technical alerts, etc Promote technical excellence image of Company and Segment (publish papers, attend/present at public forums, and otherwise gain recognition for the Segment products and services) Responsible for technical competency content for Geomechanics within the Drilling and Evaluation Responsible for the standardization of Geomechanics workflows, tools/software, reports, presentations and sales materials across the global Drilling and Evaluations Organization Integrate the Geomechanics solutions with other domains within Drilling and Evaluation Provide detailed analytical reports to management Assist Geozones with high level technical support for clients Work assignments carried out to the highest quality level Perform various other duties and activities as assigned by supervisor within the physical constraints of the job

Qualifications
Education & Experience
REQUIRED
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field 7+ years relevant experience providing Geomechanics services including 1D geomechanical models, log analysis and geomechanics solutions including wellbore stability, hydraulic fracturing stimulation design, critically stressed fractures and sand production prediction

Title: Driller

Overview: The Driller is responsible for ensuring that the work in and around the drill floor and BOP as well as the rig up and rig down procedures and the drilling operations occurs in a safe and effective manner thereby meeting and / or exceeding Nabors Drilling Company's and the contracting Company's goals and objective for safety, production and budget. The Driller works under the direction and supervision of the Rig Manager.

Key Relevant Tasks:
• Anticipate potential problems, pre plan and implement corrective action in a
timely manner thereby helping to ensure outcomes reach company goals for the
drilling operations
•Work with the Rig Manager to assist with post analysis reviews of critical actions
and implement ongoing best practice activities for future operations
• Ensuring the safety of the drill crew and all support personnel working in and
about the drill floor
• Oversee proper rig up and rig down, continual preventive maintenance and repair
of the equipment used in the drilling operations along with ensuring continual
cleaning and housekeeping in and about the drill floor
• Ensure drilling operations follow established plan
• Substitute for a Floorhand in the absence of a trained Floorhand
• Together with the Rig manager, continually train and develop employees working
on the drilling rig so as to meet the employee's career goals while at the same
time meeting the needs of the company
• Responsible for monitoring the progress of the drilling operation, determine when
bits need to be changed while operating pumps, rotary table, draw-works and drill
pipe.
• Ability to operate rig utilizing rig controls while monitoring operation of various
equipment (pump pressures, weight indicator, drill string weight,)
• Knowledge of Drilling rig equipment capacity and functionality including but not
limited to Canrig Top Drives, accumulator units, draw works
• Adjust mud pumps to maintain the proper circulation rate
• Ability to perform basic math functions

Mustbe able to repetitively climb stairs and ladders, work in an unprotectedenvironment as well as be able to lift / carry and work with items weighingupwards of 35 lbs
Assistthe Rig Manager with trouble shooting and problem solving duties and decisivemanner

Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:
• Ability to perform essential functions of this position with or without reasonable
accommodations.
• Previous rig experience as a Floorhand, Motorhand and/or Derrickhand for
Nabors Drilling USA or 1 year experience as a Driller for another drilling company
• Strong knowledge of the Floorhand, Motorhand and Derrickhand positions
• Ability to wear respiratory protective devices
• Must have reliable transportation to and from the rig

Preferred Qualifications:
• High school diploma, certificate or equivalent
• AC and/or SCR Rig experience
• Completion of Certified Supervisory Well Control course that is unexpired
