This role translates mid-range planning objectives into detailed, AHS executable designs that guide daily production activities. Reporting directly to the Chief Mining Engineer, the Mining Engineer works cross-functionally with Geology, Survey, Operations, and AHS teams to generate practical bench layouts, material routing strategies, and shovel-ready instructions that support safe and continuous production. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of mine planning systems, short-term sequencing, and field-level operational constraints, ensuring plans are both technically sound and AHS operationally executable. Rotation and cross-training with other mine planning roles is expected.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain a rolling short-range mine plan (1 to 12 months) that aligns with mid-range strategies, production goals, and operational constraints.
Design and sequence pit advances, including bench layouts, dig polygons, ore control boundaries, and blast patterns, ensuring alignment with geotechnical, operational, and safety requirements.
Design and coordinate closely with the Drill and Blast team to define burden, spacing, timing, and initiation designs that optimize fragmentation, minimize dilution, and reduce ore loss which are executable in an autonomous haulage system environment.
Collaborate with Mine Geology to ensure accurate grade boundaries, reconciliation inputs, and material classification are incorporated into dig plans and routing instructions.
Prepare detailed material movement plans, including routing of sulfide and oxide ores to crushers, leach pads, and stockpiles, ensuring delivery of the correct material type and blend.
Generate shovel instructions, blast release maps, and haulage plans, and communicate these effectively to Mine Operations and AHS Controllers.
Monitor plan execution, validate against survey pickups, and make timely adjustments for real-world conditions such as ground control issues, equipment availability, or changing priorities.
Utilize Hexagon MinePlan 3D, Activity Scheduler, and haulage tools to model, visualize, and update mine plans and track performance against targets.
Participate in daily and weekly operations meetings, reporting on short-term forecast accuracy, compliance, and corrective actions as needed.
Contribute to the monthly forecast, budget updates, and production analysis by providing data-driven updates and reconciliation support.
Work collaboratively and cross-train with Mid-Range and Long-Range Engineers to ensure planning continuity and feedback on plan execution.
Maintain clear documentation of assumptions, changes, and plan decisions for operational transparency and continuous improvement.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Condition Monitoring Specialist, you will be responsible for designing and implementing condition monitoring strategies for fixed plant and mobile equipment at the Pinto Valley Mine. Use specialized techniques and data analysis to detect potential failures or deviations from normal operating conditions. Play a key role in identifying condition monitoring tasks during equipment maintenance strategy development, optimizing practices, implementing new techniques, and supporting new equipment commissioning.
Demonstrate commitment to safety and Capstone's Values in Action.
Program Optimization: Enhance safety, inspection frequency, route efficiency, and feasibility for condition monitoring (ConMon) activities. Coordinate findings with the Reliability Specialist and implement improvements.
Standards & Procedures: Develop and maintain ConMon inspection procedures, performance standards, and required documentation to ensure consistent execution.
Hardware & Software Management: Identify, procure, calibrate, and upgrade ConMon hardware, servers, and software in partnership with IT. Maintain adequate inventory of consumables and accessories.
Innovation & Technology Implementation: Research and implement automated, wireless, IoT, and AI‑based ConMon data collection methods to reduce equipment failure risk. Prepare business cases for new technology adoption.
Technician Development: Coach and mentor Condition Monitoring Technicians, maintain training and competency matrices, and track progress toward industry certifications.
Skill Transfer & Support: Provide hands‑on training for maintenance teams in advanced tools and techniques such as laser alignment, pulley alignment, precision measurement, and sampling.
Maintenance Strategy Support: Serve as subject matter expert in workshops to develop maintenance strategies, selecting appropriate ConMon techniques and supporting planning for scheduled inspections.

Enforces Arboretum policies and safety procedures per direction of the Head Ranger/Safety Officer.
Serve as the main closing staff member on all scheduled days by locking the entrance gate one hour before closing, informing all visitors of the Arboretum's closing time, ensuring all visitors have left the Arboretum, and closing/locking the exit gate upon the last visitor's exit
Act as the first responder to all emergencies, including medical emergencies or other unusual occurrences; coordinate police and/or fire department response, if required
Assists with maintaining inventory and stock of first aid supplies and kits
Assists with regular checks of first aid kits and fire extinguishers
Use situational awareness to anticipate and solve problems
Responsible for parking and traffic control coordination on high-traffic days as directed by Head Ranger/Safety Officer.
Provides a friendly, professional and courteous demeanor at all times when interacting with arboretum visitors, staff, volunteers, and onsite partners.
Trash/litter removal from parking lots, gardens, and frontage road, assist with bathroom cleanup on heavy visitation days.
Monitoring of wildlife and human/wildlife interactions per Arboretum policy and guidelines or as directed.
Requirements
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Education: High school diploma or GED
One year of relevant experience.
Retired Public Safety and first responder highly desirable.
Knowledge of first aid and emergency response required.
A current Arizona Type D driver's license required

Must pass a background check.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to work outside in extreme weather conditions. Summer temperatures may exceed 110 degrees F.
Must be able to work at least one weekend, day and occasionally evenings.
Ability to lift 50 lbs. and traverse uneven terrain and hiking conditions.
Must be able to stand, walk on uneven terrain, sit, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop or kneel, talk, and hear, and use fingers and hands to feel objects, tools or controls.
Ability to drive a golf cart throughout Arboretum grounds.
Fully functional vision is required (prescription lenses are acceptable).
