Job DescriptionSalary: $12.50
Under very limited supervision, responsible for driving a pick-up route to collect laboratory samples (mainly environmental) from customers and deliver them to laboratory for analysis. Reflects company's customer service philosophy in every customer contact. Ensures that customers are satisfied with laboratory services provided and the company in general.
Essential Functions
1. Routes are set up prior by the Lab Manager. Additional stops may be added per customer(s) request.
2. Prepares laboratory coolers with appropriate supplies and ice to keep samples in proper condition. Loads sample bottles needed for customer route.
3. Drives automobile to customer locations on a daily basis. Collects prepared samples from customers recording temperature of customer's container on appropriate log. Places sample in appropriate holding container (usually a cooler with ice) in order to return sample to laboratory. May leave additional sample bottles with customer.
4. Picks up and delivers samples from customers to laboratory for testing and analysis in a timely manner. Records all route transactions on appropriate forms.
5. Corresponds with the Lab Manager or Supervisors when customer(s) have questions or complaints.
6. Makes emergency roadside repairs to vehicle, when needed, such as changing tires, installing light bulbs, fuses, spark plugs, etc.
7. Complies with Food quality-assurance processes for compliance to standards and regulations with the internal quality system.
8. Supports and complies with the methods and standards based on ISO 17025 quality management system.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Inspects vehicle equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil and water. Schedules
necessary maintenance on vehicle. May perform routine maintenance on vehicle. Cleans vehicle on a regular basis.
2. Other duties as may be necessary to fulfill the responsibilities of this position.
Work Relationships and Scope:
Directly reports to Laboratory Manager. Works closely with laboratory technicians to deliver samples and answer customer questions. Has regular customer contact in order to relay information and answer questions. Contacts to be performed with clarity, courtesy and tact.
Interpersonal Skills:
Strong interpersonal skills required. Must have ability to work collaboratively and effectively with internal and external staff. Ability to work in a team environment as well as ability to work independently.
Measures of Performance:
Quality, accuracy, thoroughness, reliability and timeliness of work performed; courtesy and cooperation extended to customers and co-workers; customer satisfaction with service received; appropriate appearance and grooming for work.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Must have and maintain a valid driver's license. Three to five years driving experience preferred. Individual must possess: excellent defensive driving skills; good understanding of driving regulations; ability to read highway and street maps and develop efficient driving routes. Individual must have the ability to interact professionally with a variety of people, dealing effectively with difficult customers. Individual must deal effectively with time pressures and stress.
Working Conditions:
Work is performed largely in a vehicle. Up to eight hours a day is spent sitting in vehicle traveling to customer locations. Occasional bad road and severe weather conditions are expected. May be exposed to raw sewage on occasion. May lift up to 35 lbs.

JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for safely transporting material from a clients' location and to an assigned destination for processing or disposal. Performs necessary tasks to load and unload material utilizing commercial trucks and/or heavy/agricultural equipment. (May include tankers and end dump trailers in an off-road environment.) Strongly focused on safety following all federal and state regulations for transporting hazardous and non-hazardous materials.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Always operate truck in a safe manner.
Comply with all DOT regulations, including timely and accurate submission of Driver Daily Logs, completion of a Driver Vehicle Inspection Report (DVIR) and thorough compliance with all applicable Federal, Company, and Local laws pertaining to motor carriers.
Perform loading, unloading and timely delivery of product to assigned/approved destination.
Perform daily inspection and required preventative maintenance on assigned tractor and trailer/tanker.
Maintain vehicle by keeping it clean.
Ensure that all paperwork is accurate, complete and submitted on time.
Travel from job site to job site or plant to job site. Some trips may require 10-hour workdays.

Responsible for cleaning off any biosolids that accumulate on the TANKER after dumping, before leaving the field site.
