JOB SUMMARY

The Van Driver plans, provides information and drives a passenger van in the local area and on institution grounds. He/she reports to the Visitor Center Program Director.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or GED.
CA Non-Commercial Class C Driver's License with a valid Commercial Medical Certificate
California Department of Motor Vehicles Class A or B license, with passenger endorsement. A Motor Vehicles Class C license is required to transport passengers in a vehicle that is designed to carry less than 10 passengers.

DUTIES:
Coordinate, maintain and provide routine schedule for bus, train and airport.
Coordinate routes to and in the local community, transporting visitors' from the institution.
Coordinate with the institution Visiting Staff and the Program Director a plan for transportation of visitors from the Visitor Center to the institution visiting area and back again, where appropriate to do so.
Coordinate routine maintenance of vehicle with institution or authorized service providers.
Provide information and resources regarding local and long distance transportation to and from the institution.
See that regular vehicle safety inspections and transportation logs are complete.
Provide temporary on-site supervision of children, in cases of extraordinary need and under direction.
Coordinate special transportation arrangements for visitors with special needs.
Participate in regularly scheduled trainings, as required.
Participate with other Visitor Center employees to maintain a clean, sheltered, safe, and appropriate work environment.
Participate in mandatory training as required for the position, including institution and off-site training that may occur outside of regularly scheduled work days.

If you're looking for steady local work and the comfort of sleeping in your own bed each night, this position is for you. Our Local Class A Drivers haul all drop & hook freight throughout California's Central Valley, offering consistent miles and dependable pay.
Position Highlights:
Pay range: $0.65-$0.71 per mile
Average weekly earnings: $1,200-$1,500
Includes excellent benefits with 401(k) eligibility after 30 days
Daytime shifts - predictable schedule and routine
Home daily, no overnight stays
Routes based around Lathrop, Lodi, Stockton, Tracy, Modesto, and Manteca
Qualifications:
Must possess a clean current Class A CDL and valid DOT medical card
Must live within 40 miles of one of the hiring cities listed above
Minimum 1 year of recent OTR experience for experienced driver positions
Must successfully pass hair and urine drug screening and background checks
Trainee Opportunities:
Graduates from a minimum 120-hour CDL training academy within the past two years are encouraged to apply.
Training duration: 30 days over-the-road with a professional trainer (nationwide travel, no home time during training)
Training pay: $650 per week
After completion, trainees move into a full driver role earning $1,200-$1,400 per week After training get into an OTR/Regional position to build your OTR resume.

Responsibilities
Truck drivers deliver and distribute building products to assigned customers. Ensure safe loading, handling, and transportation of materials and heavy cargo. Drive truck to destination applying commercial driving regulations and skill in maneuvering vehicle in difficult situations. Complete necessary paper work and relay any customer questions or complaints to supervisor. Inspect truck for any defects or problems that might arise after and after trips and submit reports indicating truck condition. Maintain vehicle in safe operating condition including service with fuel, oil, and water. Maintain logs and records according to D.O.T. regulations. Assist associates in loading and unloading trucks or building loads as needed. Secure cargo for transit. Maintain a clean truck. Maintain good housekeeping in work area. Demonstrate strong commitment to safety, quality, environmental awareness, and continuous process improvement. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
HS Diploma, GED or two (2) years equivalent work experience. Must have a valid Class A commercial driver's license (CDL) and possess the ability to safely operate transportation equipment (i.e., tractor/trailer combinations). Two (2) years truck driving experience required. Must have working knowledge of DOT regulations and meet BC driver qualifications. Performs duties in all weather conditions.
Preferred Qualifications:
Flatbed experience preferred. Knowledge of building products and forklift experience a plus.
