We are looking for full time and part time drivers in the Dallas area to pick up and deliver packages to residential and business addresses. You will be required to drive your own vehicle to complete the daily route. Drivers will be independent contractors. This position is a Monday through Friday shift with Saturday availability.
Drivers should be highly energetic, competent, and self-motivated individuals with a good sense of direction and excellent customer service skills. Punctuality, reliability, and delivery experience are required. This position will also require understanding and use of handheld devices to assist with each delivery and must own a working smartphone.
Applicants should be capable of lifting to fifty pounds without assistance. We prefer applicants with verifiable work history with FedEx, UPS, or other parcel delivery services but all applicants will be considered. Under the direction of Lead Wastewater Plant Operator(s) and Wastewater Plant Supervisor (depending on the size and scope of the facility), the Transport Driver performs wastewater transportation operations, and associated maintenance and monitoring activities; performs work assignments to ensure performance, acceptable asset condition, quality, and health and safety standards are met or exceeded; and performs related work as required to ensure efficient and effective operations. This position is responsible for the efficient transport of materials to/from wastewater treatment facilities to/from landfills, warehouses, and other locations.
Section 2 - Major Responsibilities
Responsible for the safe and efficient operation, care and acceptable appearance of assigned vehicle(s) and/or mobile equipment.
Work collaboratively with supervisory personnel, treatment operators, and other transport drivers to assure optimal efficiency, proper monitoring, and regulatory compliance.
Perform a range of transportation and materials handling activities including, but not limited to, operation of equipment, light maintenance, monitoring systems, process improvement, record keeping; in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Notify appropriate personnel of needed repairs and renewal; and coordinate with maintenance personnel.
Maintain thorough logs and records in both written and electronic form as required; use these records to improve the function and efficiency of various operations.
Accomplish adequate execution and documenting of pre-trip inspections, properly maintaining and performing general housekeeping on assigned vehicle.
Observe safety guidelines as required by State statutes and as prescribed by the NTMWD. This includes identifying and mitigating safety hazards as well as assisting in the implementation of safety programs.
Receive shipments, monitor unloading processes, record into inventory, and check shipment documents for compliance to standard.
Learn and comply with applicable NTMWD policies and procedures.
Assume the responsibilities of direct supervisor(s) and subordinates as required.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Section 3 - Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Requires a valid Texas Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL).
Must have three (3) years' experience operating vehicles that require a Class A CDL license and a good driving record.
Knowledge of wastewater operations is preferred.
Must possess a high school diploma or GED.
Must obtain knowledge of compliance requirements, operations and maintenance requirements, and reporting/record keeping requirements.
Must communicate effectively, both written and verbally, with supervisors, peers, and subordinates to convey information.
Maintain basic computer skills, and electrical and mechanical knowledge.
Section 4 - Environmental Factors, Working Conditions and Equipment
The duties and responsibilities are generally performed in a motor vehicle or in a wastewater treatment environment. The position involves sitting (up to 8 hours per day), standing, walking, light to heavy lifting (up to 75 lbs.), light carrying, bending and reaching, keyboarding, and telephone/radio operation. It often requires an irregular work schedule and overtime hours. Specific physical conditions require work with chemicals, tools, machinery, moving mechanical parts, etc.
The duties and responsibilities are performed both indoors and outdoors. Moderate exposure to sun, dirt, dust, pollen, odors, wetness, humidity, biological hazards, rain, temperature and noise extremes, hazardous materials and chemicals, machinery, moving mechanical parts, vibrations, electric currents, traffic hazards, and water hazards are common. Perform and review work at locations that involve hazardous environments requiring the physical ability to wear and work using personal protective equipment (PPE) that meet or exceed guidelines such as established by OSHA which may result in some physical discomfort due to temperature, dust, odors, chemicals and noise. Safely drive clients along a pre-determined route following all traffic laws. This includes providing door to door service, assisting passengers to and from the vehicle, and ensuring they are secure in the vehicle.
Maintain records accurately and thoroughly including trip information, vehicle pre and post checks, incident reports, timesheets, and other relevant information.
Provide great service to passengers that reflect the values of CCFW and the Transportation Department.
Work Hours
Hours: Afternoons- 1:30pm to 5:30pm, Monday-Friday. This position may require flexibility to work various hours, depending on current program needs.

Ability to push/pull 250+ pounds, moving clients in wheelchairs required.

Ability to operate passenger vehicles, a two-way radio and a tablet required.
